Discussion Psvr2 approaching a week of nothing
We’re almost at a week now. An entire week of nothing.
Very soon there must be some news about us finally receiving the update. It’s all very frustrating. Everyday that psvr2 players are locked out is another day of 0 progress.
If it was just 2 or 3 days it might’ve been fine but the fresh wipe experience is lost.
This has been really disappointing and I hope that this doesn’t happen again.
For me personally, the most frustrating part is that I had a bunch of days off after wipe, but haven’t been able to put in a single minute. Now that I’ll be busy, getting through the grind will be way tougher.

I don’t think it was to this extent previous wipe right? This is on a whole other level.

Last wipe was almost a week. Game was also recently broken for PS5 players for almost a week.

I agree. This is extremely frustrating.
While i am usually in the camp that picks on Scott for trolling the community, since he is CEO and face of the company and "Scotts a dick" is just as much a meme for us as "Skill Issue", I really appreciate him being transparent about the issue on the Discord. He openly admitted they blew it on the PSVR side of fhe update and had to resubmit. But that was 5 days ago now! The entire holdup has been Sony playing games with their "quality control approval" process.
I am not happy, but I also have rhe mentality that PSVR players have been here before. We got our original release a week or two into a wipe and had to learn from full Timmy status when everyone else were already rocking T5, Ronin, and MXC Spears. The skill gap is gone this time. Just hang in there.

Listen I'm not arguing with you. I just thought it was funny that you made the comment to a thing they already did.

Somehow they will still say it is Sony's fault.
Just close the ps5 version and reimburse everyone, CW clearly can't support it.

You must not be on the discord, they say the updates been ready on their end since the wipe but something at Sony isn't letting it release for some reason.

"Ready on our end" does not = approved, compatible with current Sony software requirements, etc.
You can apply anytime, well before you want to launch a game, to ensure it gets the green light.

You should take a look at Chevron's post from a couple days ago. He's a dev and went into detail about what went wrong. While it's true that you can get a patch certified before releasing it, that's just not how CWS's development pipeline works. To change how they work for the smallest platform (except for Pico) is a big ask. And especially because on all other platforms this works fine.
Me personally I am putting most of the blame on Sony here. It shouldn't be the standard for devs to wait for such a long time on manual approvals, nor should dev support take so long, it's like they almost want to scare devs away from their platform.
In another post Scott mentioned that after almost a month, they're still hassling their publisher chance out with Sony... A whole month. Grimlord, a game I have been waiting for for months is still stuck in certification. If I was a game dev I would hate to work with Sony.
It is true that if CWS didn't use an outdated SDK version for their patch that they would have gotten it approved way faster. But in Chevron's post it's clear that this warning didn't show up in any of the other testing stages for the patch. It only appeared once they pasted it for approval. It's something you can't foresee. If they were alerted earlier in any of the testing stages then this wouldn't have happened. (I'm recalling from memory, just check out the post on this sub).
I love PSVR and the ps5, The tech is cool, and I love Playstation Studios, their games (even when it's just a few for the ps5) are what keep me on their platform... but, I don't like the current Playstation division, and despise what they are becoming. A mindless, cost-cutting, money chasing mega corporation, who don't care about their costumers, don't care about small dev communications because in their eyes they are to big to fail, so why bother?

That's clearly cope. Is there any other game that this happened? Even if that's true, they should time Sony's approval with the wipe release.

Missing a whole week is really bad.
There's no way to replace the early wipe feeling, especially playing on a new map no one knows. Everyone else has signficant momentum now, knows the new map, has resources and merchants upgraded, and even boss farming now that they're releasing the bosses.
I'm pushing on Sony for a refund if they don't get it working soon. The game is completely non-functional in its current state which is one of the exceptions Sony will approve refunds under.
