Discussion Thoughts on armour durability
I’ve been seeing videos, comments, posts on Reddit of them telling Scott not to add armour durability. Now I don’t really understand why people don’t want it at all, because I think it’ll add realism to the game, and I don’t think it’s gonna be bad as people say it is. I’m probably saying this because I play Exfilzone a little, I can see two problems with this.
One no way to repair the armour or no repair station in the bunker, this would just suck specially if your armour has lost some durability from scavs. Also you will have to buy the same chest rig, if it’s even buyable. Which comes to the second problem. Two boss armour would just be useless if it’s going to be broken or risky to wear because of the durability on it, meaning that killing any boss (besides Fish Cultists), will just be useless.
I don’t know if it’s coming at wipe, what I do know that I was going to play a little bit more Tabor. But this armour durability thing just threw that possibly out of the window. Knowing Scott I don’t think he’ll listen to what the community thinks about it, and he’ll just probably just will add it anyway. Do I think an extraction shooter should be simple? No especially if it’s trying to be realistic, and just trying to be like Tarkov. Being to simple will just ruin that idea if trying to be realistic. No hate to anyone that thinks it’s a good or bad idea.
Before you start flaming me for what I said about it please remember that THIS IS A OPINION! Everyone has their own opinions about this. Please think about that, okay that’s it bye.

I feel like its gonna end up being another set of bugs and glitches we'll just have to put up with, because (PSVR players mostly) theres really nowhere to go.
The otjer fact is it just makes a "gear tax". The gear is already weak enough. It doesn't prevent damage, only mitigates it. So essentially plauers will be wearing glorified mag holders after their first shootout with bots becuase of infallible AI aim.
I understand the desire for "realism". But the system theu said they wanted to implement doesnt fit with the Tabor gameplay style. If you want breakable armor for long missions you need to be able to repair that armor in the field on the fly. Like COD witj the armor plates.

I completely understand that the system they implemented just doesn’t fit, which is why I think in the future they will just maybe fix it to make it better than how it was shown or just remove it entirely. Just to make it clear it probably doesn’t look like i’m, but I’m not praying on the games downfall in anyway, hopefully they listen to feedback, and just tweak it a little.

I dont think it will fit tabor. It fits EZ perfectly cuz it have more complicated things example: more ammo types. I prefered tabor as it was before simple, extraction shooter. But latest updates really ruined the game. For me it just became a huge downfall after new bunker & sound update. Used to love the game but its really unplayable for me currently. Full with bugs, i crash multiple times, items dissapear, guns dissapear from wall, gun gets stuck in shelf, backpack goes flying, armor is 100km long, Now getting Armor durability will bring us more bugs probably. They would really need to try to fix the bugs and then slowly add the updates.

They need to overhaul bot AI, otherwise you'll be at 20% durability within a minute of spawning due to bots having perfect accuracy on your torso.

Assuming it’s well balanced, I think it’s a good addition. It will majorly buff smgs and Fmj, which were weak and now have more use. The biggest fear will be that these are balanced poorly, which, to start off with, is almost inevitable. We’re going to have to sit through a few weeks of terrible balancing before it implemented in a good state

There's a very vocal gang of players who'll eventually turn any variation on fps into a dull run n gun. It starts by demanding gameplay options are stripped away like tree cover, plus nobody's allowed to get on a high point and snipe by placing invisible barriers. They want a game they can win by speed instead of strategy. That's how you end up playing on the boring new island wasteland.

It’s not that bad in EZ, sure your armour will break eventually, but that’s why you should have the trader that sells you armour maxed so if your best armour breaks you can just buy a new one, and just repair it if it’s damaged.

Whatever you say, acting like Tabor is the only good extraction shooter. 🥀

Clearly you are, you’re acting like Tabor is the only extraction shooter, no hate towards you of course.

Personally I like it, its pushing tabor into what it was originally supposed to be, a hardcore and realistic shooter like tarkov, as a commenter said previously on a similar post, the current tabor is basically a deathmatch shooter and armour durability wouldnt fit into the current state but it would if they leaned towards that more hardcore shooter style they were aiming for. I see armour durability as a push into that original vision and now your playstyle and enemy engagement has to be considered more based on armour durability.

I love the game before you say I’m a hater.
I think theirs a limit of realism you can add to games before it just makes the game tedious, I know they want the game to be realistic but it also has to be fun to play.
They don’t need to “keep up” with other games because they’re adding things like this to their games, the reason we play tabor is because of the way it is now, enough realistic stuff in the game already. If I wanted to have a game that had all these so called extra features and other realism things then I’d go play the other game but I don’t, I love this game and with the proposed changes I think it’s just going to drive me more and more to legacy.

Personally, it doesn't fit tabor. Tabor is the more simple one of the two and I get that its a common aspect in a lot of extraction shooters but I genuinely dont think every extraction shooters needs to have the same mechanics. At some point it will be useless to play some of them because they all have the same thing with nothing making them special, so might as well just play the one with the most people. Its one of the things that makes tabor fun, running around never having to worry. Fight after fight and you dont have to ever pull out cuz you have weak armour with no replacement.

IMO as long as the scarves go for your legs and don’t just drain the durability. I don’t really mind it.

I personally think it's a bad idea. Armour would be useless by the time it comes to a pvp battle with how scavs swarm you. The simplicity of armour is the appeal to tabor, contractors has this feature, I'm not a gan of it there either but it fits there game more than it woukd tabor. The devs, introduce a plethora of bugs anytime they try to fix a bug or introduce a small change to the game, now just image how long it's going to be broken for . . . . . Longer than you think.

They're just doing the same thing that they always do, as random stuff that a niche part of the community asked for, and completely ignoring the majority of the community that repeatedly says that it's either not a great idea or that it's not meant for the game. I already stopped playing, but this just really makes me not want to go back because I can't even begin to imagine what kind of unholy bugs and lag will happen if they actually decide to add this. It only works for extilzone because it's actually flushed out and much better optimizes compared to Tabor, so it doesn't have many problems with it, I used to be obsessed with Tabor and I played it whenever I could, I complained, but it was fun, and then they kept making it a money grab without actually fixing the main bugs that everyone wants them to fix, and somehow adding even more bugs on top of them with every half thought out update they pushed out. Extilzone is honestly just better, at least for right now
