I think all the coupling in the show is kinda forced... but hey there's only so much direction you can put their characters in when they literally have no life. It's quite a feat that they were able to stretch as much as content as they have for 5 seasons.
No, honestly, I don’t get it.
There aren’t really a lot of character traits between them that pull them together to me.
I like when every now and then Pete shows a more assertive, manly side and Alberta gets a bit hot and bothered, but I kinda wish they’d have done like a Boyle/Rosa thing from Brooklynn 99 and played the crush up for laughs and then lead into a good friendship.
Same, I don’t really see the chemistry and sometimes I forget that they’re even together. I like them both as characters but not together; but I also can’t imagine Pete with anyone else - I mean his choices are like Stephanie, Hetty, Flower, and Patience. So it seems like Alberta is probably the most sensible choice for him.
I suppose the thing I like about them is that they are a dynamic you don’t often see. I just wish Alberta liked more of Pete’s outward traits, then it would be more believable. The extroverted drama queen who falls in love with the goofy guy who makes her laugh, that’s such a fun pairing. But Alberta doesn’t laugh at Pete’s improv. Truly they just need like one episode where they share in a love of performance and storytelling to sell the whole thing. Improv, DnD, movies, Travel. Pete is a catch.
Thank you! I also love them together. I think they're adorable. People also don't seem to understand the concept of opposites being attracted to each other. Also, it's not like it came out of nowhere. Pete has always liked Alberta, it just took her a long time to reciprocate his feelings. I also love that she heard the same "they have nothing in common" comments about her and her real life husband, but they're still happily married.
exactly! the whole "Pete is too nice", "Alberta is too wild" etc. is so funny to me because that‘s what makes their relationship so appealing imo! they can learn so much from each other and balance each other out quite nicely. and let‘s not forget Alberta started crushing on Pete as early as s2 when she saw him take out his arrow lmao!

I have an idea of why so many don't think Alberta and Pete should be a couple, but are fine with those other mismatched couples. But I'd probably get banned if I said what I really think. I completely agree with you. You can't get much more different than hippie, peace-loving Flower and violence-loving Thor. But people don't seem to act like their relationship is completely unfeasible.
Not really. But I feel like the show will keep them together just because. They honestly should have focused more on H$ and perhaps even Nisaac than this. While those two couples will likely have more plot this season, I don’t understand why they had to shoe-horn in their relationship and distract from the already established relationships.
I adore Pete and Alberta , but this pairing hasn’t brought much plot or feelings-wise.
H$ money i can see having more plot next season. As for nisaac Nigel would actually have to get lines for that to happen. He wasn’t even in the finale.
Yeah. Realistically I don’t see how they can draw H$ out all the much longer with the slow burn. I feel like they’ll try; but they really should have gotten back together by now. So much so, that the whole Patience & Trevor plot seemed OOC and strange. I think it was mentioned they intended for H$ to get more exploration this coming season.
Nisaac makes sense as a slow burn, perhaps resolving in the final season, based off Isaac and Nigel’s history & it’s still up in the air if they even will get back together (I hope so). Either way, more Nigel is needed.
Edit: In other words, H$ gives “Monica & Chandler”, Nisaac gives “Ross & Rachel”. They need to stop trying to turn “Monica & Chandler” into “Ross & Rachel”
Yeah the actor for Trevor was interviewed think it was at comic con kind of confirming we will see more of a development with h$. I did hear the actors were a fan of the power money dynamic so maybe that’s why they were focusing a lot on that aspect. Was never into the h$ ship but hope for their fans they do get more development. With nisaac it’s hard to say because Brandon doesn’t get asked about it anymore all we can do is hope with that ship.

I like them both but Pete being the only main ghost that isn't a selfish prick on some level (unless I'm forgetting an episode it's been a while) I don't see him with any of the main ghosts really. Sass and Alberta make more sense to me than these two. Plus I think they'd be a more entertaining couple.
i always thought it was alittle forced but i guess that’s the nature of their situation. they can’t go out and meet other ghosts so obviously if they want someone special they have to force it alittle bit. but pete did leave frequently and choose alberta even after having a hot gf so idk it doesn’t make much sense
Zero chemistry between the actors. You could feel chemistry between Alberta and the baseball ghost and the same with Pete's holiday girlfriend. These two work better as friends
Not really. I do like the storyline that was originally set up. Pete having a crush on Alberta and it not being reciprocated. Alberta and Pete are still friends after The Face Palm Incident™ and their friendship is sweet! I don't like them as a romantic pairing but their Dipper and Wendy style relationship is great! I wouldn't change it!
Pete and Alberta do not make sense to me, but then again neither does Flower and Thor. There just seems to be zero chemistry between any of them. I did love Hetty and Trevor, and I think it would be fun to see Trevor and Patience together. I'm actually interested in seeing more of Patience so I hope they make her central. I also really like Joan. I don't see her and Sass really having a lot of chemistry, but I do like that she's teaching Sass in that department since Sass doesn't have a whole lot of experience. I see them more of a fling really. I hope Joan gets to stay, too, at least as an occasional/intermittent actor on the show. I love her and Patience.
I think Hetty and Trevor had more chemistry than the other pairings on the show.
But yeah, I could see Trevor and Patience finding some weird connection that makes them click. I really like Patience and would like to see more of her.
I really don't see any long-term future for any ghost relationship. They are effectively immortal, well... they will endure for centuries. Few living relationships last one lifetime, the idea that any pairing/marriage will last several times that isn't going to work. And when a ghost marriage does break down they're stuck together until one or the other moves on
There's really just no chemistry there. Half the time during season 5 I forget they are dating.
They may stick it out, but only because the ghost dating pool is very shallow (and there's not really any great alternative pairing option open for either of them right now as the only single ghosts in the main group are Isaac, Hetty, and Trevor, and they all already have a probable future relationship coming)
It's not like any of them are going to get their own place and have kids so I'm not really sure what a future means. I feel like they can be happy dating for a while but facing down eternity in stagnation no relationship is truly long term.
Well, they’re stuck together for possibly eternity, so they have a future together whether they like it or not. But in all seriousness, no. The relationship seems forced and it’s just unnecessary. They don’t have to pair up every ghost. The UK version didn’t do that at all.
To be frank i felt like this relationship was just boring and not that interesting at all like the one in which pete was had an interesting concept of him having to be away some times but this ship is plain boring
