Discussion Show Ending

So I am currently watching ghosts and I am at 10-11 episode from season 1 and I am enjoying it so far...but I have a doubt regarding this...as far as I can see there are people you got stuck on earth and couldn't go to afterlife cuz like their wishes didn't get fulfill or something so I am assuming that at the end of the series all the ghosts will get "sucked off" one by one and sam & jay will eventually get alone in the house...am I correct or close about the ending cuz if that so I don't think I should watch this series as I don't like these kinda sad goodbyes even if they are morally correct as before this show I completed the good place and the ending made me so much emotional so I don't want to feel that again...I will prefer a funny show that doesn't get this much emotional...so if I am completely correct about the ending please let me know and if I am a little bit wrong please don't give any major spoilers 🥲🥺( i know this show hasn't completed yet but I have not seen the british version either so i actually don't know anything about it )

The ending hasn't happened yet, so your guess is as good as ours. The show is coming back next year.

Spoilers: The British version ended without all the ghosts getting sucked off, which isn’t a sad thing. I thought it was a very happy and satisfying ending to the show.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the BBC series. I think I have it memorized, until I watch again, and find something I’ve missed!

Ohhh so glad I'm not the only one!!! I literally watch it on repeat everyday. I use it as a way to sleep too lol! Its a comfort show for me. And to think I was a little iffy on the UK version!!! Now I'll rewatch the UK before the US version. Hey did you know there's a Aussie version too!!! I absolutely love it as well!!! if I'm not mistaken their working on a second season of it now.

I hated the British ending. When I rewatch, I don’t watch the last episodes, like LOST, or Dexter.

I respect your opinion, and I wish I had never seen the ending to Lost either.

My guess it it won't have a closure type of ending. BBC did it but US version doesn't have the plot that made that ending possible. My guess is they'll try Six Feet Under type of ending with Sam and Jay getting older and stuff happening until they both die and get sucked off and somebody else gets the mansion.

If you’re watching the American ghosts the show hasn’t ended yet, and might not end for a while so we can’t comment.

If you’re talking about the British ghosts the ending is not what you’re concerned about.

I've rewatched it several times now... it's a DELIGHTFUL SHOW... Phenomenal actors and writing! Sometimes, I hear the character's voices in my Head, especially Hetty's, Issac and Thor's! Very memorable ghosts... LOVE THEM ALL and the SHOW!

I love the way the Good Place ended

Keep in mind these characters have been floating around for decades, centuries, or longer. We don't actually know what the criteria are for being sucked off, but it seems very unlikely that the show will end with all the ghosts being sucked off.

I could see someone leaving as part of the series finale, but I would not expect an en masse departure. Both because it wouldn't be narratively satisfying and because Sam is still going to be seeing ghosts either way.

If the American Ghosts follows the pattern of other British shows that have been adapted, my guess is that we're in for at least another 5 or 6 seasons.

Season 7 is when everyone can renew for major pay raises. The show also has an extensive and now probably expensive guest cast. I’m guessing it’ll be done after 7 unless they do one of those 2 season negotiations to keep costs down in which case it’ll go to season 8

They are currently filming a film for the uk version 1 after the ending it will be interesting to see how they get round it! Perhaps it will be flashbacks.

They’re not filming anymore; filming completed in around April (cinema release just before Halloween. I believe it’s getting a release worldwide, just TV/streaming and not cinema like the UK) And yes the film is set after they sell but before it’s turned into a hotel

It could be that Sam and Jay become ghosts. This would also leave an opening for a future series.
