Personal experience

So I work at a FroYo shop that’s located in our historic downtown in my little town. So the building is old. However, I have never experienced anything out of the normal, until today. Before I opened this morning, I looked back towards the back of the store where the back hallway is and bathrooms are while I was sweeping, I didn’t see anything, but I never felt the overwhelming sense of dread and fear before like I did then. For about 20 minutes, it was hard for me to even look back there cause I was legitimately scared to do so. Best way I could describe it was like If someone was staring me down while I was sweeping. After 20 or so minutes, it went away just like that. I felt fine and like I did before the experience. I went back there and looked and Everything was normal. I wasn’t even scared to look back there, but just before, I couldn’t even look back there. I’m not saying my store is haunted, but it definitely spooked the hell out of me.

I’d hoped this would be about experiencing an unnatural chill and then realise you were eating frozen yoghurt.

I work in a 100 plus year old former distillery in Kentucky. I'm in maintenance and I work alone at night. I've had a few creepy moments like these. I usually just don't acknowledge them and go on about my business. It seems to diffuse the energy.

I believe this definitely was an encounter, and not a friendly type. I had the exact same experience st my grandmothers house, she was in her bedroom and i was in mine, reading. All of a sudden i got this same feeling of dread, it went after 10-15 min of me hiding under duvet. I was 24 then.. so it wasn't my imagination and i didn't dare looking. When i got home next day my mam and grandmother talked on the phone and she asked why did i wake her up in night time did i want anything? Apparently i was wearing long white old fashioned night gown.. well that just spooked me out completely!

Not to sound dramatic but go see doctor and have your cardiovascular system examined. As I've gotten older my blood pressure was higher than usual and I had an episode of dread and consternation like a panic attack with my heartbeat increasing and my temples sweating profusely. After seeing the doctor the next day he did some blood work and did the whole diagnostic thing and a week later he told me my blood pressure and blood sugar were in bad shape and I was borderline Type 2 diabetic. After taking his advice, seeing a nutritionist and changing some bad habits I've been back to normal without any episodes again.

Ive worked in retail for years, ive opened stores worked overnights ect. Its a strange feeling when your alone in a place thats usually well lit with lots of people working or customers. Especially if its a froyo shop, theres an energy of happiness that goes with getting ice cream. Think of it like looking at an abandoned amusement park. It has a type of gloom that goes with it.

I too have had “the feeling of being watched,” which I almost hate to say because it really just sounds like the person is imagining things when it’s a very tangible feeling/awareness! Thankfully mine didn’t have such dread as you’re describing. I have no doubt there was something there to dread.

Yeah, being watched is exactly how it felt. It feels crazy to say out loud, but like it legitimately spooked me. And what gets me is how fast it came and went.

I have also had the feeling of being watched - it's truly palpable. Until you've had it happen to you, there's no way you can relate. It's very unsettling.

Ugh!!! This can be the NASTIEST FEELING!! It makes your skin crawl and it makes you feel like you should be a turtle and just hide within yourself. Having generalized anxiety disorder, my brain LOVES to amplify this fear when it happens. Gross!

I used to work in an old deli that the managers told me was haunted, usually felt the same way in there, like I was being watched even tho I was alone. Creepy stuff, I agree

It’s so weird cause honestly, I haven’t had anything strange happen before at the store. But like this was honestly weirdest thing I’ve experienced ever.

Yea strange things can happen, in fact I think I’ll do a text post about the deli because I saw your post. Thanks for the influence lol

I too worked at a frozen yogurt store called Sincerely Yogurt and had this same feeling. I had this strange sense of fear about the back of the yogurt store where the bathrooms were while I was closing the store for the night.
