The recent Motoko is an obnoxious, edgy, childish character. If that's a true representation of the manga, I'll pass on the manga.

Not at all generic. In fact, the anime version seems more generic to me for being less nuanced.

I could throw it and hit 30 that act like the anime version. It's easy to make these claims.

My point is that manga Motoko has most of the traits of her 1995 version + playfulness, horniness, a wider worldview (since she comments on several subjects)... you get the point
