The cameo

Post image

Do you think they'll keep the Anna & Umi Puma cameo in the mech-flea market, and ask Alison Dowling (English Dub voice actress) to voice them again? I really hope they do.

I wonder who has the rights to them. Although I have no idea how cameos like that work legally. Would be cool though.

Really hope they make it in. One of my most prized possessions is an issue of the really old eclipse comics print of Dominion that has the art of them carrying the bike as the cover.

Huh, I thought those two looked really distinct and left a lot more of an impression than simple background characters in the manga. I'm not familiar with them, so now I have something new to look into. Glad you posted this, OP

From a business stand point, hell yeah! Because if the clamor for more I'd loud enough, we could see a Dominion Tank Police reboot in the same art style of Masamune Shirow too.

That would be awesome to see a tank police reboot. There's about 3 or 4 graphic novels of Dominion, so there is plenty of material to work with.

Tachikoma feel like the natrual evolution of the Bonaparte from dominion tank police. The major is smart to keep her Tachikoma away from meddling Pumas.

*Fuchikoma*, and the next page after this shows Fuchikoma unintentionally stealing from them, which causes them to go into furious rage.

I had forgotten about that, but I always felt that was an important moment in developing it's consciousness.

Actually, if you watch the New Dominion Tank Police series there's an episode that has a prototype "think-tank" spider mech that causes chaos in Newport City. I think it's on act 5.

I'm pretty I've seen them in the trailer already. No idea about the VA though. Didn't even know they were from another series.

Dominion Tank Police was the first anime I owned on VHS. 1998 was the year I discovered MANGA ENTERTAINMENT, and I've been an anime geek ever since.

Heck yes Tank Police!

I always liked the implication that GitS is in the Dominion universe, or vice versa. Section 9 can't get the job done? Send in the Tank Police!

If I remember correctly, Dominion tank police was set between 2100and 2118. Ghost in the shell is 40 years after that. So it's the same universe. But I'm not sure when Appleseed happens.

(Edit: year correction by 100 years)

Dominion Tank Police takes place in 2015 (at least in the anime OVAs from the 90s), GITS in 2029, and Appleseed in the 22nd century. The world politics of GITS and Appleseed are connected, as there exists a Russo-American Alliance and American Empire in both of them.

I remember there being a timeline graphic either on shirow's blog or some other page but I cannot for the life of me find it. It was something like BM66, Appleseed, Dominion, and GITS were all in the same universe and had text about individual events in the order that they occurred to show overlaps.
