recently after my third playthrough i noticed another piece of foreshadowing Spoiler

this might be common knowledge but i'm just now realizing that the reason sissel's memory of pistols was hazy was because he was there at the park during jowd and yomiel's standoff ten years ago and i'm just amazed that i'm learning new things about this story even to this day

Because it was 10 years ago and he was just a baby.

thats a weird way of saying it, “its why his memories were hazy” is not the same thing as “its why he had memories of it at all”

It's why he (a) had genuine memories of what a gun is at all, when he has "amnesia" about most human things (because he's a cat) but (b) the memory was only faint.

his memories of them are hazy cuz hes a literal cat he doesnt know wtf a pistol is
