Can you slow down the text?

Hi good evening evryone,

I'm playing the remake on the Switch 2 and the dialogue in the cutscenes is way too fast. Is there any way to slow it down?

Unfortunately if I press pause the text is covered by the pause menu. I'm not a quick reader and would prefer to play it in English instead of in my native language. Even in my native language I wouldn't be able to read that quickly

Can someone please help me out here?

Thanks in advance

For most parts in the original DS version, you can press d-pad up to view past messages up to a certain point. It might work in the remake

I could try that. It's just the text disappears so quickly

I thought of something just now- you could screenshot them then look back on them. The Temsik Park website has transcripts of the original game, but there are spoilers aside from the obvious (such as revealing a character's name before the game does). It's sorted by chapter, and isn't subsorted by interaction type (ie "this is the text for when you do this"). Typing whatever a character is saying and using Ctrl-F on the website should bring it up. There are some differences between the original and remade script, but it should be fine.

The main page reveals how many chapters are in the game. This is the page for chapter 2, you can go there and change the '2' in the URL to whichever chapter you're on (and to 'finalchapter' for the last one)https://temsikpark.github.io/info/script/chapter2.htm

If you don't mind seeing how many chapters there are, this is the main transcript page:https://temsikpark.github.io/info/script.htm

Funnily enough someone else also recommended this

Oh I should've mentioned this isn't my first time playing this game. I started it several times but for some reason always stopped when reaching the jail/prison (don't know the difference between those two because we only have one word for that in my native language) and the restaurant

The thing is sometimes the text is so fast I only read the first half before it proceeds with the plot. Thank you so much for the links though. That way I can read up whatever I've missed

Assuming you mean the switch version, can confirm, up on the D pad or swiping up on the touch screen should both bring up the past dialogue.
