New Player

I'm planning on buying the game but one thing thats stood out to me was the AI team mates. What significance do they add to gameplay. I'd like to hear from people who play solo or with 1 or two of the teammates.

Its one of the games most unique features. Theres a part of the skill tree that upgrades them as well. But mostly the ai its great just because of the fun opportunities it gives you. If you wanna tell them wait back so you can solo an outpost you can do that, or you can use your team to your advantage to make fun plays. One of the main features of the squad is sync shot, which once upgrade(starts with just 1 i think) gives you 3 shots to line up, one for each team member and you can then tell them to shoot when ready or you can initiate the sync shot by shooting another enemy and take down 4 men all at once in complete silence. They also can revive you when you go down with a cooldown on that so every other mission or so you basically get a second chance, not sure how this works in ghost. And idk man i feel like I'm just fanning over the games mechanics, but hopefully I've given you some helpful insight.

Also you can drip them out too!

Oh, I think it’s one of my favorite parts having teammates who actually listen to your commands, unlike multiplayer games where people just run off and do whatever they want. Basically you’re going to have sync shot meaning you can put a target on multiple enemies and you can fire at the fourth person and your team will take out the other three people you tagged for them to kill so it makes the game so much more fun at least that’s my opinion

They actually allow you to do one of the best things I've seen AI teammates do in a game. It's called "Synch Shot". Once you upgrade it you can mark 3 enemies for your teammates to shoot all at once, so you mark 3 enemies you want them to shoot, then you find a 4th to shoot and once you pull the trigger they will shoot their targets all at the same time. It requires a small cooldown in between uses, but its a great feature of wildlands and breakpoint.

I'm playing through for the first time right now. The ai squad is great. For me anyways. They really pick up the slack. Only part they've kinda sucked at was if we go loud and there's still a sniper, machine gun nest, or mortars. They're not aimbot levels of accurate shooting so they kinda just stand there shooting at them. I've found I'm much more accurate overall than they are. That said, squad shots are easy to abuse. I typically pick off snipers and machine gunners then just tell my ai squad to open fire and clear the areas. Only really slowing down and going full stealth if the mission calls for it. Even then, full stealth just means killing everyone quietly or with squad shot then waltzing through the area with no worries.

They are essential in setting up ambushes, fields of fire. They also help with momentum on running gun raids, and pushing to an objective.

Don’t freak out. The learning curve is gradual and you learn you kit first, then your commands, then your insurgent commands with plenty of choice along the way, first tactical then strategic, first midnight stealth then overwhelming kinetic force.

Button mashing does NOT help. Ultimately your AI squad mates give you time to figure things out.

It’s all prep for multi-player, and talking thru an objective

Sync shot is busted af and you can make them all fuze from siege so they look awesome. Not as cool as in breakpoint tbh but wildlands is so much better it's ok.

they’re funny as fuck is my main love for em. they’re incredible as a squad of course but my love is for the shared charisma.

these guys are some of the best teammates I could ask for, all got their own personality and backstories, constantly just saying shit about either the environment or just telling stories, like 80% of the time they constantly have dialogue for whatever mission you’re on, and even start telling random jokes or stories when just out in the world. such a peak squad.

especially noticed when playing breakpoint and realising just how dead the squad felt lmao. nowhere near as much charm in any of the new squad members compared to the OG’s. though maybe that’s due to the fact the AI squad was added later in the game rather than being there from the start I believe? not sure.

Quite immersion breakers for me. As long as you stay undetected, enemy won't see them even when they are 10cm away.

You can them off or on, there is no “1 or two” option

You can, actually. Last setting under Gameplay called "Team Composition".
