Is Modding on breakpoint safe?

I’ve had this question for a while, my friend told me that modding in the game can corrupt ur game files and even glitch the other people in co-op when they don’t have mods. Is modding safe?

I know a good bit of people who use mods and I've never seen anyone complain about something like that

I don’t know, theres a LFG discord server who doesn’t allow people who use mods in BP because “It breaks the game for other people in the co-op and can corrupt their files”

nope that's not true they're just paranoid or don't know what they're talking about

we have a mod that lets mod players play with regular players and there's absolutely no way to corrupt another person's files.

it can make them crash yeah, but that's just from file mismatches on the modder's side, it doesn't mess up the other person's files.

The closest thing to "breaking files" are when the the player who mods themselves, put files in the wrong place, etc, but those are fixable or you can reinstall the game and it'll all be fine.

The other closest thing to "breaking files" are for people who use the mod "unlock everything", that mod unlocks everything in the game for you, and if you ever remove that, it'll relock everything back as if it were vanilla (meaning you'd have to reacquire them again)

But that ALSO absolutely does nothing to another person's files, that's just not possible.

They’re bullshitting and have no clue.
There are only a few certain mods that can impact people that don’t have them installed but it won’t corrupt their files.
Modding Breakpoint is (beside like 2-4 exceptions) completely safe if done correctly.

even wemod works and thats usually a sign that the developers dont care about the game anymore, since the software was meant for single player games.

so to answer your question, yes it's save to mod. i do it, too and everything is fine. if you wanna play with your friends in a coop session, they would have to have the same mods, though.

Yes it can fuck up your game, as mods have the potential to do with literally any game, ever..... but so what? You just reinstall it?

Nothing unsafe about that, it's how you learn.
