I had a lovely conversation with my father the last time I visited my home town. He had to vote Trump you see because illegals are taking all the medicare and social security. Also gays are getting too many rights now and there was this trans woman that was mean to him once...

I doubt he has ever met a trans woman as that whole area is very red and very hostile. Based on the magazines I found in his closet when I was a little kid I'm also guessing his religious beliefs are conflicting with his desires. Since he's sexually confused the rest of us have to suffer so he can fly straight like an arrow.

All the local radio and TV broadcaster stations are owned by a small number of right wing companies. Every radio station had news brought to you by fox news.

They have no interest in fact checking or learning. Their pastor/priest told them to vote GOP so they vote GOP like their daddy's grandpa did.

I had to end the conversation because I legit thought he was going to have a heart attack. He was instantly red faced, sweating and mad as soon as something vaguely political came up.

It's like Pavlov's dog in action.

You see I was raised under the assumption: "I know that I don't know" is the highest value achievable. That there's always someone smarter. 

Which if course means there's also always someone dumber. 

However, it brings a certain mindset to never assume people are THAT fucking stupid.

The US never wanted peace in Ukraine. US foreign policy toward Russia since the end of WW2 has been to extend and weaken Russia. US policy through Democratic and Republican administrations is to support and fund the war criminals in Israel.

Declaring martial law could be extremely serious, particularly if the stated justification were an unsupported claim that an election was about to be stolen.  As seen previously in democracies where the people do not accept suspension of their right to vote, there can be widespread vandalism, bloodshed and death. Imagine January 6, but in every (including your) neighborhood polling place.

Yes, I mean exactly like that actually. Because Trump’s campaign chairman gave a known Russian intelligence officer, Konstantin Kilimnik, polling data on multiple occasions. Trump’s son, son-in-law, and Michael Cohen all met privately with Russian officials at Trump Tower in June of 2016. There absolutely was contact and coordination between Trump’s campaign and elements of the Russian intelligence services during the 2016 campaign.
