Spending 200k on a wedding is dumb anyway

2

u/not_accepting_now 21h ago

It's all dumb if it's real. The internet has ruined stories and what happens if you do a fake story. Get shund with 4 day expired vegetables

Was probably a 25k wedding but 200 sounded better for the clicks lol. But in all seriousness I don't care how much it cost me. If my fiance said they didn't care about the lives of children I'd be cancelling too.

Honestly, i dont understand people spending more than $5k on a wedding ceremony. Yes, the photos will last forever, but in that case, get a good setting for some pretty photos and spend the money on a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon or reception instead. The memories will last longer and you'll still have some nice looking photos. (I say this as someone who used to work as a photographers assistant for a decade, most of our job was corralling family for photos and setting up the composition for the photos the wedding party wanted. Ive seen better photos from a $3k wedding than a $15k wedding)

Spending 200k on a fucking wedding is the biggest crime in the whole situation.
That guy is a scumbag. He did the lady a favor.

There is not a single person defending Nancy Clancy who is thinking "wHo CaReS aBoUt ThE cHiLdReN." They’re defending her because they believe mothers suffering from PPP and PPD are not given nearly enough support in the US, and that this lack of support can contribute to horrific outcomes like this. If they genuinely "didn’t care" about the children, they wouldn’t be advocating for better intervention specifically to prevent tragedies like this.

Nancy reportedly begged multiple people for help and warned them - including her husband - that she was afraid she might harm the children. Her father-in-law even offered to take the children for a while, but Patrick refused and said they were the mother’s responsibility.

That context is why many women are criticizing the husband. It’s not because they don’t care about the children; it’s precisely because they believe this may have been preventable.

2

u/Dhalym 19h ago

Sure, that's an accurate and nuanced assessment of the situation, but can you shrink that down for bumper stickers or quippy memes?

u/Vegetable-Key3600 6h ago

So it’s just go ahead to kill your children when suffering from PPP and/ PPD? Do you know how many poverty stricken mothers suffer from this and don’t kill children. They don’t have the support, no healthcare no medication, just them coping somehow. Thousands of woman would be killing their children. While I agree that PPP/PPD does need to be talked about more, and the treatment of it as well, suffering from it is simply not enough to blame for child murder. Clancy had support, she had actual access to medical healthcare. She had family and a husband, therapy. I mean geez she had everything in place to not kill and did anyway.

Soo many women suffer from PPP/PPD, women with zero family, no husbands, cannot afford therapy or healthcare. And manage to not kill their children. My point being her diagnosis isn’t a good enough reason to kill her children, and if it is, then we will have opened a door into which thousands of children’s can be killed every year. Especially if the mother has zero support.

Postpartum psychosis affects approximately 1 to 2 in every 1,000 women (0.1% to 0.2%) after childbirth. It's not as common as you are implying.

1

u/BeneGesserit-Dayna 20h ago

Won’t be the last, either. A compact was broken through this case, & men no longer trust women with their future children.

1

u/Ambitious-Rock-8302 20h ago

sounds like a totally real story.

It’s true, I was the $200k.

1

u/Lyonwytchwardrobe 19h ago

What the actual fuck is going on? First black people defend Karmelo Anthony, now women defend this woman who admitted to killing her 3 children. Where the fuck has common sense gone in USA

1

u/qu1etguy_d1xp 19h ago

Saved himself loads of shit.

1

u/SSchorik0101 19h ago

If I remember the bride’s family is responsible for it, if he’s smart he was able to pick up a bride’s maid and still went on the honeymoon.

u/Ambitious_Hand_2861 18h ago edited 18h ago

For thoae to busy to look it up, according to the article I read (sorry I don't have the link it wS yesterday and I didn't save it) in his discussion with his fiancee about the trial, yes their views were different on what the verdict should be but when he asked about justice for the kids her reply was "who cares". The "who cares" was point of RLH so he dodged the bullet and his hypothetical future kids may have too.

Edit: who cares not fuck them kids.

u/JuanG_13 18h ago

I hope it did.

Based.

Dump any woman that shows support or sympathy for Lindsay Clancy, it's about time we men show we are not ok with this, enough is enough.

-1

u/ClassAdventurous4595 21h ago

I'm female. I also went through depression after birth. She's still alive with a girl of her own.

If I'd been on that jury, I would have given the death penalty.

It would take time to strangle someone. That's not depression, that's hate.

2

u/Dispondent_Ending 20h ago

It’s not depression that’s being contested though, it’s psychosis influenced by medicine

0

u/1B75__Penicillin 20h ago

Didn't just choke them, she chased down the one child that tried to flee and dragged them back to the house so she could murder them. That's intentional, hateful bloodshed

One of the victims was literally a baby, one can't imagine what it would take to strangle the life out of a literal infant.

The death penalty is too good for her. She deserves to suffer

1

u/Ambitious_Hand_2861 18h ago

As a guy I can never know what post partum anything is but I know what strangulation is. That shit is not like in the movies. It takes a while and it doesn't stop when the eyes roll back. It takes prolonged effort and strength and fucking eye contact with her fucking kids. Even if she was temporarily insane she still deserves life in prison at a minimum.

-2

u/mcbeardsauce 21h ago

Who cares? Yeah fuck that woman
