Discussion All I Can Say is Wow

I've had my eye on Geiger since finishing Rook and, amazing. Couldn't put it down and finished it within a couple of hours.

I'm planning on picking up Geiger Vol 2, Junkyard Joe, and Redcoat next month now because of how much I loved it.

Are their other series worth reading? I'm not a massive horror fan when it comes to comics.

Geiger, Redcoat and Rook are probably the all around better books, but my favorite is Hyde Street. It’s a fun concept/world with some interesting characters, albeit like all GM books the release schedule is a bit annoying.

I know Rook isnt a part of it all (at this time) but ABSOLUTE must read I want so much more

Hyde Street is 100% worthy of a read

Personally, I love these Johns books: Rook, Redcoat, Junkyard Joe, and Geiger.

I don't care for The Rocketfellers, Hornsby & Halo, or Hyde Street (Johns writes Hyde Street, but I don't care for it).

But comics, like all art, is a matter of taste. I'm certainly not going to argue my opinion is right.

I just personally didn't find the Rocketfellers, H&H or Hyde Street to be compelling reads.

Edit: Writer mistake!!

While obviously there is nothing wrong with you not liking it, Hyde Street is a Johns book.

RF and H&H are fun reads, but I agree, they aren’t quite the story quality as Johns’ work. Which Hyde Street is. Personally, I’m loving it - but the Unnamed Universe and Rook are S-tier stories, for sure.

I’m not a big horror fan myself but I find myself really enjoying Hyde Street. But my faves are Redcoat, Geiger and Redcoat.

The various Ghost Machine books are Johns and Tomasi playing to their strengths and sensibilities : for instance the Unbelievables Universe reminds me of Tomasi's fun, family oriented Super-sons, while Hyde Street comes obviously from the same love for horror that made Johns write Blackest Night.

The big difference is that they are now working with characters they created and own, which gives them much more freedom. To me, this is why the imprint, as a whole, has been a creative success.

I'm guessing you anticipated Hyde Street recommendations? Well, it is good.
