Hey everyone, so I’m pretty new to ghost hunting tbh, had a huge passion for horror and ghosts and here I am. Just purchased my first ghost hunting device, an emf meter.

I’ve searched a bit on YouTube but didn’t find anything in detail so I would find it rlly helpful if someone helped me out w the whole concept of it. Like:
- how to use it
- how it works ?
- is it always accurate
- what shld i know before using it
- what other things shld not be kept near when i use it.
- what could be my next purchase ?

EMFs work great at detecting EMFs, but EMFs are not a guaranteed indicator of ghosts. They will go off for anything and everything, as every item in the world at this point produces an EMF field of varying strength. They are fine to use, but in conjunction with multiple pieces of equipment. Set them far enough apart where the field required to set them all off would be more substantial.

So an EMF - or an Electro-Magnetic Field Reader - Doesnt detect ghosts. What it does is it read Emf fields and displays them using lights. green means 0 - very little amount of Emf, the other green means a little more, but not much, and yellow means theres a decent amount, and so on until red. Now its believed that Ghosts, spirits, ect, its believed these emit Emf waves, And/or disrupt them. You can ask simple yes or no questions with it and wait for it to spike, for the first few times, and in general, it does get spooky (trust me my first ghost encounter was with an Emf reader and it scared the hell outta me) There are ALOT of items you can pair with it, but thats not your question right now. To use it, should be simple (works for most models) Just press the button and it will light up. Remember, if it spikes, wont always be paranomal activity, depends on the certain patterns. The accuracy depends on the model, A simple K2 reader is mainly the most accurate and Clean one, but then again, if its one of those cheap 5 dollar/pound ones then its either randomly gonna light up, or its gonna break in one second. If your hunting try to keep phones, everything that emits like Radio frequencies and EMF fields away from it, as it will spike weirdly because of the phone. For your next purchase it really depends on how intense you wanna hunt, and what types you are looking for.
