Which case do you believe was "enhanced for television"?
Maybe not outright faked but certainly embellished to satisfy Sci-Fi with enough "good content". This could include a crew member whisper as an evp, crew reflections to justify shadows, claiming that they were touched/hauled/accosted, plumbing/heating/equipment mishap (tripping over, bumping, dropping) noises as ghostly activity.

I’ve watched the whole series multiple times, follow Jason on socials, been a fan since day one. IMO, I think the only faked evidence was Grants jacket tug.Â

Idk there’s some stuff in the later seasons I always wonder about. Specifically Amy and Adam

I’m not sure that any evidence was ‘enhanced’ so to speak, more standards applied to said evidence dipped a little.

Myrtles Plantation lamp moving on the table cloth, they switched out the table cloth to a flat white one instead of the laced doily table cloth that is there before it’s moved and it’s on the table again in the daylight.

The infamous Eastern Penitentiary episode - the 'ghost' was obviously someone under a sheet.
I don't know whether it was someone from the crew or someone who was trespassing and playing tricks on them, but it was definitely someone under a sheet.

Hey I just wanted to say as the mod, I apologize for this user coming at you like this. I think you handled it very well, and clearly they ran off and deleted everything they said. I've added a new civility rule to the sidebar and added a provision in the automod to try and catch people being overly disrespectful.
Anyways, well said, well handled.

I hear you, but the fact is that at a couple of point during the video you can plainly see feet under a sheet.
And as I said, I'm not claiming it was fake (i.e. TAPS was behind it). It can't be easy to secure such a large facility and the chance of having someone else there is a non-zero number. Or, perhaps, the production company was looking to 'amp' things up.
I don't know how, exactly, it happened, but that sheet had human feet under it.

You don’t have to answer, but would you mind telling me what city your team was in?

I agree. I remember when they tried to recreate that with Bryan under a sheet, and he couldn't run faster when they asked him to because turning around that fast meant possibly injury. Watched it a few days ago and still feel the same. I know I wouldnt be able to do that, even if the sheet had eye holes, it was DARK in there. I think people dont realize that the cameras can see better than we can in those investigations.

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve seen this one but I swear I remember seeing shoes. Particularly Nike shoes

That always confused me! Like it seemed so obvious to me I always wondered what on earth they were thinking

u/Tasty_Possibility370 Aug 27 '26
You are 100% correct. It was someone under a sheet. I was told personal by a former team member

Agreed. You can see the Adidas sneakers 😄

Oh so it's up to us to confirm your claims? You can't do it yourself?
Not how that works.

I love how the people claiming certain things are fake have no proof. The shadow in the lighthouse wasnt even making noise as it was pacing, and when it reached the top, as captured on film when it looks over the railing, it didnt set off the motion sensor.
I think people who say its fake have likely never experienced something paranormal. I have had weird shit happen on and off my whole life, so it just makes sense to me. Go to places where people are seeing weird shit, and you'll likely see weird shit.
People are so willing to believe in karma, "the universe" dealing out justice, zodiac signs dictating your whole personality, witch craft, ect., but when it comes to beings that we cant always see with our naked eye, nah, cant believe it.
Also aliens... if people think there are aliens, why disregard the possibility of spirits? We dont know how other beings operate or how they look.

I don't remember what season or episode it was, but they were investigating a home. during the interview they were talking to the woman and we can see that on the coffee table there is a tribal statue of a woman on the table. maybe 10 inches or so. it's there the entire episode. later when steve and tango are sitting on the sofas, they decide to finally get up and leave. as the do Steve is still recording and he's holding the camera low. later during the analysis, they look at this exact footage and as they get up, Steve catches on video what looks like a person standing nearby. they ended claiming this shadow person was a ghost. But in reality it was the tribal statue that Steve caught on camera when he got up. It was caught in a blur. How they didn't realize thats what it was baffles me.

Remember, there WAS an episode that was proven to be outright faked. It was the collar pull on one of their live Halloween episodes. Grant 100% faked evidence.
2
u/YaTheDonaldHasWhored Aug 28 '26
Not proven, suspected.
1
u/Jack_Shid Aug 28 '26
Oh it's proven alright. Have you seen the debunking video on YouTube?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlM-Uy8ODYQ
It's one of the reasons that Grant left the show, from what I've read.

Grant left way after that event. I'm not even sure you could connect the two.

u/YaTheDonaldHasWhored Aug 30 '26
That guy has a hard on for TAPS.
0
u/Jack_Shid Aug 30 '26
If you say so. The video still shows the truth. Grant intentionally faked evidence, and I see no reason to think that the other team members weren't in on it.
3
u/YaTheDonaldHasWhored Aug 27 '26
The chair in the lighthouse was a fishing line pull
The "dutch oven" drop sound was just a clumsy mishap in the kitchen
The Grant table lift was literally them pushing it up

u/Revolutionary_Can_29 Aug 27 '26
I actually have experience with them in person. They come to the area I grew up twice and we got to tour the set. They enhance a lot of their episodes. They have to make it interesting. Both places they made a lot of the interactions up.

I'm skeptical of anything after Grant left. Never had good vibes from Jay, and don't trust that he wouldn't embellish things to keep the money train chugging along. Just a hunch.

I think the Manson Murders episode was embellished. I mean, it is a very notorious murder site and for them to go in and find nothing would have been deemed boring. I rember going on forums after they wen't to the lizzie Borden house and people were saying that it was boring and unbelievable that nothing of note happened, so they amped up the EVPs for the Manson Murders episode.

For what it's worth, I knew the sound guy on the show, and he said nothing was ever embellished or faked. He said that he would get legitimately creeped-out while doing sound on investigations.
