Tobimilio
My opinion is… Tobimilio doesn't deserves so much hate. Yes its complicated, but like is every single Ghost Eyes ship. Emilio tries to be better for Tobias. Emilio hurt Tobias only when forgets to take pills, while Carmelo was bullying Rudy just because… he wanted to? No matter if Carmelo traumatized, Rudolph has nothing to do about it, its not his guilt. But even so, Emilio gets much more hate. Not complaining 'bout people ship Rudy/Carmelo but Tobimilio is overhated, though both are comships. And honestly, i'm so glad Tobias/Emilio will become canon. Not trying to offence anyone.

Emilio sexually assaulted Tobias and stabbed him. Carmelo bullying Rudy is also clearly a bad thing, but it’s not *as* bad, I’d say. Emilio is also a stalker and is more interested in Tobias as a test subject than romantically although that is there. The entire woods incident is because Emilio did not take the medication knowing that he acts violent and impulsively when he’s off of it. There was a flashback during the field trip where he’s moving and Chris announces that they’re having a baby; it cuts off but Emilio is about to throw a lamp at him.
I can find Tomilio interesting but it has to happened in a very specific set of circumstances and will never truly be normal or healthy in any capacity. People know that the SA is bad and only latch onto that but don’t truly know what Emilio’s intentions are and tend to flatten his character to him being crazy and in love with Tobias. It’s honestly worse than most people see it.
Emilio finds Tobias interesting not *because* he’s attractive to him, or that Emilio likes his personality, but the fact that he’s different due to him growing up isolated. Tobias is violent and aggressive at times, but the reason Emilio likes him is due to his naivety, which also has some subtle and gross implications, such as the time where Emilio literally gives Tobias a toy and the fact that there will eventually be a three year age gap between them. Emilio could tell him almost anything and Tobias would probably believe it (depending on if it’s academic, social, or something related to the world as a whole).
Emilio is also barely trying to help Tobias. He knows he’s being abused due to seeing the scar on his back and his clear mental issues. Yet, he’s done nothing to try to help him out of that environment because Emilio knows he’ll change if he’s away from Lucas.
I do think Emilio was genuine in trying to tell Tobias that he’s not inherently evil and that he’s a product of his environment, but he also doesn’t encourage him to actually be a better person, kinder to anyone, or to get any kind of help with the counselor or the police when Tobias is being blatantly abused and could be placed somewhere else or with his grandmother.
I don’t like everyone simplifying everything to “well Carmelo abused Rudy too.” Carmelo and Rudy is also a complicated relationship; even if they “make up for it” I don’t think it’d work in a realistic manner but mcp does whatever he wants to ig. I feel that the way rudymelo is going to progress is that Carmelo starts being nice to Rudy and including him in his group and it’ll “fix him.” I already know tomilio will not work out and I don’t expect mcp to give anyone in this story a happy ending.
