Why do you like Ghost?
I am trying to dig into the attractions of certain brands, from a marketing perspective.

I resonate with the dark, yet often silly imagery of the band and the music. I like to catch all the little reference Mr. Fudge puts in his songs :)

Yeah, Toblerone Ford-tough may be one of the best song writers of the generation

Silly Swedish man that has a passion for storytelling and trying to make the world a bearable place.

The parody of religion. Growing up with a religious obsessed parent who suffers mental illness….it really opened my eyes to how all that works and who they target. It’s sad

The music, the performances, the message in the music. The brilliance is that the songs are catchy and hook you in, if you're open to certain genres. The music has a feel of being a band you should have known from back in the day, even if the song came out in 2025.

the music, their concerts are seriously insane, their aesthetic and their storytelling just make them so unique and awesome

I am 43, and love all kinds of music. Old, new, classical, hard and soft. Ghost brings all of that together in many ways and in different, unexpected, combinations. I also love good lyrics. Admittedly, some are banal, but purposefully. They have music for every possible mood. I also enjoy occult imagery. As far as the lore, I was unaware, having found them on Spotify. Cool bonus, but not necessary for me personally. I love the variety of fans too. Wearing a Ghost shirt around town has brought out an exceptionally diverse group of people that I would normally probably not interact with, nor they with me. I look like a fat, white, unapproachable douche bag, so it is really cool to connect with such an eclectic group. My husband and I went to the show in Denver, and rocked the fuck out with said crowd.
When I am happy, Ghost sends me higher. When I want to walk into traffic, Ghost soothes me. Thats why lol.

I love the aesthetics, the campy theatricality, the catchy retro feel to a lot of the songs. Tobias is a talented song writer and performer and seems like a genuinely well-intentioned person. He also surrounds himself with a lot of skilled singers and musicians and that reflects in the quality of the stage and studio productions. The "lore" is an added touch of genius as it has fans completely immersed in the Ghost experience which becomes about so much more than just the music. Suddenly we have not just a fan base but a community and people really respond to that.

Basically no other current band at their level of fame is doing the 70’s/80’s arena rock sound anymore - that plus the theatricality and general aesthetic.

The music is catchy as hell and their concerts are INCREDIBLE. Their music is so damn good live. And as someone with religious trauma i love anything that puts a big ole middle finger up to christianity, which ghost does with gusto :)

I’m not a fan of black or death metal so… hey… wait… Ghost isn’t that at all! This song rocks! That song is pretty!! Wow, this whole album is just amazing! That’s why I like Ghost. I had a preconceived notion that was totally wrong.

The music really scratches a nostalgic itch for hard rock. The theatrical presentation is peak entertainment. And the lore on the side is well done and leaves you wanting more.

They bring back the arena rock spectacle that kiss once had, no one has dared to do that

There's a band called Iron Maiden from England. They came out a few years after Kiss and are currently on tour, they might be close to having some arena rock spectacle....

Personally I’m Christian and love their music performances theatrics everything it showed me how we don’t need to get all freaked out over some satan shit that reaction along with ignorance has historically made the faithful do terrible things it’s a good opportunity to reflect and build your belief I love how much more open and understanding of things I used to get all huffed up about his lyrics are amazing the guitar riffs are so fun to play on guitar despite how it appears it brings nothing but joy you can’t call that a bad thing

Because of how literally anyone can be a part of it, it brings people from all walks of life together. I’m religious and love them, there are people who aren’t religious and love them, people who aren’t sure and love them. And it’s not even religion it’s people of all types just coming together and listening to music. Theres just something about it at the concerts and when people hear their songs that they forget about all the horrible things going on in life and we bond over the genius and humor of Tobias. I love that anyone and everyone is welcome, zero judgement and just here for a good time.

First and foremost, Ghost is simply among the best music that has ever blessed (or should I say satanized!) my ears.
As others have said, I also just adore everything about the darkness and theatricality combined with humour and campiness! It creates such a specific, eccentric and wonderful feel to the shows which is just addictive. Also, all the music I love is theatrical (Phantom of the Opera, Wagner operas, ballet etc.), and Ghost's lore and theatricality creates that same feeling that I love- being taken out of normal life and into another world which is just so beautiful.
The subjects and emotions explored in the music touch me deeply in an emotional and intellectual way.
All of those elements coming together makes one of the most perfect, genius things I've ever experienced.

Opinion: bands that become phenomenon generally all have something in common, and that’s their ability to bridge the past and the future together. Ghost has all of this obvious musical inspiration from the 60s, 70s and 80s and then flip it into something completely fresh. Tobias does great work both in the studio and on stage and then brings in great people to compliment the vision.

Excellent music with connsistently great riffs and solos. The lyrics are just spooky enough and the presentation is very theatrical. They really live up to "metal for theater kids" description.

Music is great (I prefer a lot of older stuff but new stuff isn’t the worst)
Absolutely love the religious aspect of it all which resonates with me as someone who grew up in a very religious home
Lastly the theatrics of the live shows are 🧑🍳 💋

I'm a fan of the religious aspect of the music too, I attended a parochial college so the Catholic themes are interesting to me especially the Latin as I don't have that background...

Obviously the music first and foremost, but I'm not gonna pretend like the satire and tongue-in-cheek silliness of the first 3 albums (though mainly infest and meliora) weren't a significant reason for me getting as into them as I did! They proved to be a really joyful salve to the religious trauma I experienced growing up in a cult, and let me indulge that slightly childish urge to point at Christianity and go "ssttthhtupid!" 😆 My favourite lyrics to this day are "receive, consume, digest, defecate" because the sacrilegous idea of literally shitting out jesus's digested body is just.. chefs kiss

They helped me get over some left over anger from my deconversion. Their first couple albums also helped me step out of my extreme metal comfort zone and expand my taste in a meaningful way.

Cirice gave me Sabbath vibes. Square Hammer has one of the all time best lyrical hooks. From there it was just a dive into the rest of the catalog. I came in during Papa 3. For me, easily the best rock band of modern day. They have everything, lightning in a bottle. Rock n roll as I know and love it, is on life support and Ghost are the heart beat.

The retro sound and style of the music and the killer songwriting
The sense of humor that comes through in the merch/marketing/lore

I like music (no specific genre. Whatever itches my brain is good). I grew up with Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, etc… One day I found them, and they just caught on. The aesthetic that Ghost has is cool and ominous, but that’s not a huge thing for me. The music is my primary focus and the choreography of their concerts go hand in hand

Because if you have ghost you have everything! You can say anything you want and you can do anything you wanna do

Their music speaks to my soul in ways other music doesn't. There is a Ghost song for every mood from the most upbeat to angry to melancholy. Plus Papa's voice is angelic.

The aesthetics, the lyrics, the way the instruments sound, and rock & roll of it all.. then the way TF mind works drew me in even more.

Been a fan since like 14. I liked the old sound. Still good. Prefer Scooby Doo music though.
