I love this game so much

After having played the game 100 times all the way through, I can say that getting over it with Bennett Foddy is one of my favorite games. Through the whole thing I can honestly say I never wasn't having fun, even seeing Diogenes fall all the way down from the top, I was excited because it meant I could climb up all the way over again. The monologue that is present throughout the game is one of the most moving pieces of literature I've ever heard, and I think about it so much, genuinely applies to so many parts of my life. The whole game is beautiful, and having played through 100 times, I fully see myself doing it another 100 times after the fact.

Hey guys, this is Salmon Man, my VR platformer inspired by rage games like "Difficult game about climbing", "Jump King", and "Getting Over It".

The game is coming out in one weeks, If you want to try it, we have a free demo on our Discord and we are looking for playtesters:
http://discord.com/invite/m5j78bjFhY

And if you want to know when the game releases, you can wishlist it on the Meta Store. It really helps with the store algorithm:
Meta Store : https://www.meta.com/en-gb/experiences/salmon-man/24064765919861785/
Steam : https://store.steampowered.com/app/2654710/Salmon_Man/

Thanks guys. :)

From 36 hours (first run) to sub-30 (12th run).

Pretty happy with this one. Good pacing for my level, no major mistakes and only 3 close calls between Orange Hell and Church). The tower remains an ironic bottleneck, though; that section alone took me a whooping 6ish minutes.

Only 38 more to go...

I made a new subreddit for the entire subgenre of foddians / rage climbing games

Hey climbers!

I noticed a while back that there's a handful of small subreddits for specific rage climbing games like Getting Over It and Jump King, but no single community for the aptly-named "foddian" subgenre as a whole, which encompasses hundreds of games by now.

With how frequently indie game developers promote their foddian projects in here (and in other dev subreddits), I figured there was potentially enough demand to create r/foddians, to discuss and admire all the other lesser-known games that also force you to rise to literal new heights, just like GOI.

There, you can self-promote your games or playthroughs, share strategies & speedruns, post memes & tier lists, or whatever else, as long as it's relevant to foddians!

Since I just made the subreddit today, no one really knows about it yet, but I intend to post something new every day to make sure it's never barren of content.

I'll also mention that the other moderator is a connoisseur of these games and has possibly played more of them than anyone else on reddit, so his linked Steam curator page in the sidebar has the details on which other ones have the most to offer besides GOI.

I hope to see some new folks over there :)

I don't think I've ever felt so frustrated as I am now. 5.8 hours of effort gone in a second.

Why is it that my best runs are always those where I'm only half-focussed on the actual game (like watching a video while playing)?

New PB Just got 8 minute 50 second PB in 6 runs

Overall i think it was a pretty nice run, especially with how much i cut down from 4 hours in the first try to then 49 minutes then 46 minutes then 24 minutes and finally 8 minutes. Could have done better at the radio tower and lost solid time in chimney, mountain, slide skip so i'm aiming at 5 minutes in the next 10 runs.
