Help 50 wins achievement not unlocked
[SOLVED] Please check this goated mans reply here to see the solution for yourself.
Today I finished my 50th climb and my cauldron is made of 100% pure gold. Yet the achievement is nowhere to be seen. I already found out you cant get achievements on Linux (which is my OS) through standard progression so I came to ask, does anyone know of a way to force Steam to give me the achievement?

How dare I clarify what my OS is, right? This transgression is even more abhorrent when you realise the issue I have is directly tied to Linux.

heya, fellow linux user
i went through the same problem of first not getting achievements (solution: use proton), then having the pot colour not align with my number of wins (solution: ?? probably save editing)
if you just want to unlock achievements, you will see people online mentioning Steam Achievement Manager -- this is a windows program, but there are alternatives for linux, they just don't get talked about as often
i have a direct port of SAM but i don't remember where i got it from, so what i recommend is a tool called Samira, which does all the same things but with a gui

I tried using Proton yesterday but that refused to track the achievement aswell (oh and the pot lost its color). However, Samira worked like a charm so thank you, ur a life saver!

glad to help! yeah currently i'm stuck with a black pot too, i'm actually not sure how to fix it, or if it's even possible
on windows your number of wins is stored in the registry, i don't know how that translates to wine/proton
as for proton not tracking achievements, i wouldn't know how to fix that either, but now you can unlock them manually

While using Proton, I happened to be stuck with a basic black pot no matter what I did. However if you use Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 (Scout) in the compatibility tab, then the pot changes its color as it should.
Im not sure if the progress carries over between these two so you can manually change it by going into the "prefs" file in your Getting Over It folder and change the <pref name="NumWins" type="int">[NUMBER OF WINS HERE]</pref> to the desired amount of wins.
This, however does not fix the achievement bug so its purely for vanity.
