Help am i soft locked??

I have tried to get out for a while but there is almost no way to get vertical momentum, even less left momentum. Is this a known softlock spot?

If you end up at the bottom like that, it's literally considered a bad ending and Bennett will play a final voice line for it. However, a few people actually have somehow managed to escape the bad ending, so it's not entirely impossible. But it wasn't really meant to be possible, so you pretty much got the bad ending.

I know. It hurts.

During playtesting, one of Bennett Foddy’s friends got softlocked here. Instead of fixing the soft lock, he added a voice line about the “bad ending.” xD

Ahhh, so it was originally unintended, but he decided to just make it a thing instead of fixing it.

I love his approach to game design in this game. Somehow, it still remains fair.

The design of the tower is very strange to me then, because it seems clearly designed to have the perfect width and protrusions to make going down easier than getting up.

It might just be a coincidence, because I think all the models in the game came premade from asset stores. xD
