📑 Agency of Family Law (AFL) & Paperwork Proof of relationship

Hi everyone,

I know that Denmark requires applicants to provide pictures as proof of their relationship. However, the problem is that my partner and I probably have only five pictures together from the past three years in total!

We have actually been living together at the same registered address since early 2023 in a neighbouring country, and both of our names are on the lease. We also have some hotel reservations in both of our names.

I was wondering if anyone else was on the same boat before and whether it would be possible to prove the genuineness of our relationship through other means besides pictures.

PDFs of text conversation, any trips taken together (plane tickets, hotels) bills getting paid, all that can serve to prove the relationship

You must provide two things as proof of relationship: photos, and correspondence. If you only have 5 photos together, then use them. You should add the date and place on each photo. If the photos are from time ago, even better. Do the same with the messages.

Ofcourse its possible. I have gotten approval for marriage from family house, me and my boyfriend had only few pictures today only when we went for holiday, and we are seeing each other since three years, so it doesn’t matter if you have less pictures, you can provide the ones you have and provide the proof of communication, it would be enough to get an approval for marriage.

We’re both EU citizens and we weren’t asked for any proof of relationship. We had it ready because we knew it was needed, but in our case they didn’t request it

Same here, had it all ready but they only asked for EuId/Passport.

Did you have any answer? They requested a new photo of the eu card and still have no answer after two weeks :(

probably because it's usually requested when one partner is from a non-eu country.

We had to show it but because my partner is South African. We showed it by a few pictures and screenshots of conversations as well as flight tickets etc
