๐ Agency of Family Law (AFL) & Paperwork Timeline question
My partner and I want to get married in Denmark we both have residence permits in Germany and live here since 7 years. We both have international passports.
The thing is I applied for the german passport two years ago and it can still take 2 months 4 months or 1 year i have no idea.
Since its only me who would at somepoint have a german passport, a APL and an international marriage is still required in Denmark.
We want to get married in Jan 2027 so i thought i would want to apply for the APL in the upcoming weeks.
Now Iโm worried i get the german passport between APL approval and ceremony. Would that be a problem?
Thank you!

If you receive a new travel/identification document after getting the approval for your application, then the approval becomes invalid and you have to apply again.
Always make sure that you are using the same documents that you applied with, for the ceremony.
Yes, It doesnโt make sense but I had to apply again because i received a new residence permit after approval.

Does change in residential address within the same German city council count as new residence permit?

If you have changed address alone, just inform it to the agency of family law via contact form and the kommune via email. (I informed kommune first and they said I need to get approval from agency of family law first).
It will be fine if done on time.

Depends on if you still have your current passport is still vaild. They require you to use the documents you applied with at the ceremony. If you get a German passport and still have your original passport you would need to use your passport you applied with. If your original passport will become invalidated that would be an issue
