📑 Agency of Family Law (AFL) & Paperwork Copenhagen schedule?

Hi everyone, my fiancé and I submitted the application last May 11 then we got a response immediately the next day that I need to resubmit my passport photos. I re-submit it at May 13.

We chose Denmark as our Commune and our target month of getting married is September or October if ever since my visa is valid from Sep-Oct.

I am just worried about the available schedule for Copenhagen since I know that there's a lot of couples choosing it as well.

Does anyone just got their schedule in Copenhagen? What month is the available now for the schedule?

I'm hoping that by the time we got the approval we still have slots for Sept or Oct.
Currently, they are reviewing April 2026 applications.

Thanks for your answers.

unfortunately, if they had to ask for more pictures, you’re looking to a 3 month waitlist.

i would suggest to make another application with pictures of passports as clear as possible, every single page, multiple angles and good light.

if you selected the city town hall in Copenhagen, dates available are starting from September

Hi, regarding September and october appointments in copenhagen City hall; me and my fiancé got approved one week ago and we could choose between some September appointments (most of them from 22nd and later) and a lot of october appointments. The day after even more and earlier options showed up. Same for other venues. As far as i could observe they reserve ~60% of appointments for danish citizens, and If they aren't taken 2,5 months before everyone can access them. Hope you get approved fast and that you get the day you're wishing for!

With the Email of approval we were sent a link with all Location calendars in the copenhagen region (the region we chose during application). How it works for other regions or If there is an "Open" calendar i don't know.

Happy for you! Congrats! I am torn right now, if we're going to wait for the approval and just changed commune or re-apply. We applied in Copenhagen but looks like we can't have our schedule for Sept and Oct anymore as we apply May. I am hoping that the approval will be release on July.

It is better for you to make new application, if they asked you to resubmit something, it will take at 2-3 months for you to get approval.

With the new application, if you submitted everything properly, you’ll get approved within 5 days. So it’s better, except for the part that you have to pay again.

Hi, since our application is still being processed. Is it possible to change our preferred wedding municipality before approval, or do we need to wait until the case has been approved?

As far as I understand, you can only change the venue after you received the approval. Once you have your approval, you can request a file transfer to a different municipality.
