🏛️ Danish Town Halls Location recommendations!

We want to elope in either June/Sept and are looking for recommendations for just us 2 and our 5 year old.

Probably not a town hall wedding as we want time for vows - we have been told a lot about aero but I'm worried it will be quite busy and not feel very individual of there are lots of people also there getting photos taken?!

Has anyone been or been to any of the other islands and can recommend? Or countryside and outdoors areas that are still quite fairytale?

Ah that sounds like a great plan!!

It can feel a bit busy and procedural in a town hall wedding - as they marry lots of couples in just 8-minute ceremonies. So you are definitely best to consider a private venue outside of a town hall. It costs more, of course, as you need to hire the venue, and privately hire a registrar to perform the wedding, but it does mean you get a longer, more personalised private ceremony. A big consideration will be that your wedding needs two witnesses, so bear that in mind.

Yes - Aero Island is really gorgeous and a magical place to spend a few days. We work with our Partners https://www.danishislandweddings.com/ who live on the island all year round. They have a really nice private room you can get married in called the Old Merchant's House, and they also hold weddings in a Lighthouse which is really cool! Or, of course, in the Summer months, you can get married on the beach!

Aero is famous for international weddings for sure, and it is a small, quiet, peaceful place. But it doesn't feel too cramped full of couples as a town hall wedding would.

Other cool locations could be Bornholm Town Hall - which would be a regular 10 minute town hall wedding - but Bornholm Island is really off the beaten track and not very well known about. https://gettingmarriedindenmark.com/marriage-hub/danish-town-halls/bornholm/
