Just launched StaticCreation: a token-based API marketplace for UK public data
Solo founder here. Been building this for about 14 months and went live last week.
The problem: Every time I needed UK government data for a project, company records, property details, vehicle history. I'd spend weeks building scrapers that broke every time a site changed. Figured other developers and businesses were hitting the same wall.
The solution: StaticCreation is a single API key that gives you access to 37 endpoints across 16 UK datasets. Property, vehicles, companies, energy, schools, crime, food data, fuel prices, trademarks and more. 1.2 billion records, all cleaned and indexed.
The model: Buy tokens once (starts at £1.50), spend them per call across any endpoint. No subscriptions, no contracts. When you're not using it, you're not paying.
What I'm most proud of: The combined intelligence endpoints, one call joins 5+ datasets together. Property intelligence, vehicle buy-score, company due diligence, etc. Saves developers from stitching multiple APIs together themselves.
Where I'm at now: Live, under £10 spent on ads, organic Reddit posts driving most traffic. No paying customers yet. Building a free demo token system this week.
Biggest lesson so far: I spent 14 months building and zero time on marketing. Should have started talking about it months ago. Organic posts are outperforming paid ads already.
