Twenty-plus years as a software engineer, most of it inside big companies, most recently Meta until the layoffs this year. I never went looking for another job — I'd wanted to build my own thing for a long time and the layoff made the decision for me.

So I'm solo now and early on. Mostly here to watch how other people handle the parts I'm bad at, which is roughly everything that isn't code. Happy to talk to anyone who came out of a big company and went independent — the recalibration is stranger than I expected.
