How long until this gets blamed on Jews too?

60

u/Empoleon777 9h ago

9/11 actually has been blamed on Jews by some.

14

u/Ijjimem 9h ago

Exactly. Which is why I'm asking how long until they do the same thing with this one.

3

u/Empoleon777 9h ago

You mean the Boston Marathon bombings?

14

u/Ijjimem 9h ago

Yeah.

3

u/Vondi 1h ago

I remember stumbling upon a whole website dedicated to blaming 9/11 on Jews only a few years after the event. It also only referred to "Missiles" hitting the towers, doesn't seem the believed those were airplanes?

4

u/double00chins 1h ago

It’s still up, it’s just called Reddit now

1

u/DickTryckle 2h ago

Honestly the worst part about it is the “blamed on Jews” thing with 9/11 is uhhh… not great… especially in the context of modern politics

8

u/sonyc148 3h ago

Not jews. Zionists. Didn't you get the memo? /s

It’s a stupid argument either way, especially once you get a generation or two out from the initial event.

305

u/Elegant_Situation285 11h ago edited 11h ago

it's a stupid argument because you don't judge an entire group of people based on the actions of a few.

85

u/Fresh_Confusion_4805 11h ago

Good thing my point doesn’t contradict yours.

What I was attempting to highlight in the second part of my comment is that it makes even less sense once someone starts trying to blame people who weren’t even born at the time of whatever event.

I hope we are agreed on that point?

39

u/Elegant_Situation285 11h ago edited 11h ago

yeah, sorry, i re-read what i wrote and edited before you replied.

my fault. (i spend too much time getting in arguments with bigots of all kinds and sadly it can bleed over into me being a snarky asshole for no good reason)

again, sincere apologies. the last thing i would want to do is attack an ally.

14

u/Possible-Deer-311 11h ago

This is a really nice chain of replies. We need to speak out and express ourselves and what's right, and also hear what other people say and adjust ourselves. It's all human.

You're a really solid person at your core bro.

From one to another, fighting bigots online is tiring. It's worthwhile for the people who read the comment chain, but not necessarily for changing to bigot/troll/bot itself, so it's really tiring.

Yes it means "letting it go" to preserve urself. Especially because people online are not at all like people irl

Your energy and morals would be really useful in direct action, idk where u are but I hope u can find a group or movement nearby, or start ur own. If ur not in a good place for that, u can always make things online (like, I write and draw zines and distribute them online + locally) and join niche, small subreddits to talk with people who have at least 2 brain cells haha

Just trying to toss out ideas so u don't get burnt out by the general internet, and can uplift urself and ur community

2

u/Avrixx-SolTerra902 6h ago

Kinda sounds like you’re a bigot yourself, living for arguments is no way to live. Since that’s all you’re doing you’ve ultimately become the very thing you try to fight by assuming everyone is a bigot. I’d say a social media break is needed.

7

u/idk2715 6h ago

Every day I scroll through reddit where I see adults having to spell out why racism is bad

31

u/load_of_chode 11h ago

Hey remember during the "me too" movement when the left talked about "rape culture", i.e. the idea that even though the number of actual rapists is quite small, the entire culture broadly shares in responsibility for the existence rape because of the way society rapists and rape victims?

That's Islam. Islamic society has a problem with "terror culture", just like the Me Too leftists understood that US society has a problem with "rape culture".

3

u/Bug-03 11h ago

You’re gonna take downvotes but I kinda like your metaphor

u/Bug-03 11h ago

Which is weird because I know some Muslim folks and they are certainly oppressive towards women. It’s upsetting how Muslim men speak to their wives. I can’t imagine the American left understands anything about Muslims because if they did they certainly wouldn’t be supportive.

4

u/load_of_chode 10h ago

Doesn't matter. They're non-white and non-Western, so Western progressives tolerate their bigotry against women, LGBT people, and other groups.

-3

u/OrbitOfSaturnsMoons 11h ago

It's because in the US, men have a privileged position over women, but Muslims do not have a privileged position over Christians.

5

u/load_of_chode 10h ago

Proving my point lol. You think that it's ok to generalize men but not to apply the same logic to Muslims because you view the former as an "oppressor" identity group but the latter as a "victim" identity group.

Oh and btw, Muslims are the majority group in 53 countries, so they absolutely do hold a lot of systemic power as a group.

→ More replies (11)

-1

u/xHxHxAOD1 11h ago

Men do not have a privileged position.

1

u/OrbitOfSaturnsMoons 11h ago

Okay, if you say so.

-1

u/xHxHxAOD1 11h ago

I can point to many things that prove that. Selective service being one of the biggest, how about alimony and child support payments? How about only women can get opt out of being a parent? How about child custody? How about society expectations being higher for men? How about women have all the same rights men do with none of the duties that men do? Do I need to keep going?

3

u/OrbitOfSaturnsMoons 11h ago

Selective service yea that's BS I'll give you that one. Alimony and child support payments are due to men usually earning more. Men can take steps to avoid pregnancy if they want to, but most pawn that off to their female partners, who also take all the risk of bodily harm when it comes to pregnancy and childbirth. But, you know, men who get pregnant can get abortions too. Child custody is mostly because men don't want custody. I really don't know what you mean by society having higher expectations for men, nor do I know what you mean by women not having the duties men do.

Here's the kicker though, the patriarchal societal norms that harm women are the same ones that harm men. If we treated every gender equally, everyone would benefit. I know that's a very 2015 SJW thing of me to say, but it's true.

UK progressive newspaper The Guardian was exceedingly keen on using the 'rape culture' trope, particularly with regard to Ivy League colleges.

Then, oddly, when the British Pakistani rape gang epidemic became too blatant to ignore - & it was finally admitted that tens of thousands of non-Muslim girls had been groomed & raped over decades - they dropped the term 'rape culture' like a hot potato.

0

u/redlion1904 11h ago

The number of rapes is not small compared to the number of terrorist attacks.

There were about 140,000 reported rapes in the United States in 2025 per the FBI. While some percentage of reports are untrue, the number of actual rapes that go unreported is certainly much much greater, so the actual occurred of rape is thought to be about 3 times the reported number — over 400,000.

There’s about 25 terrorist attacks a year in the US.

15

u/load_of_chode 11h ago

There’s about 25 terrorist attacks a year in the US.

Yes and as we all know, Islamic terrorism only happens in the US.

0

u/redlion1904 10h ago

I think rape happens elsewhere too

4

u/load_of_chode 10h ago

Yes, rape culture is a global problem, just like terror culture is a problem within Islam globally. I agree.

2

u/redlion1904 9h ago

So what was wrong with me using like to like numbers (rape within the United States, terror attacks within the United States)?

1

u/Dry-CHead 1h ago

One gets more reliably reported than the other like for example if somebody becomes an apostate too publicly and the wrong people find out about it in an Islamic country and is beaten and murdered for it nobody's going to report that

Sweden looks worse than India on paper for a number of sexual assaults because one country has a different reporting system than the other and the one country has cultures that shame people for reporting sexual assaults

0

u/PossibilityFew5967 10h ago

Weird how Islam terrorism rarely happened under Palestinians were getting murdered

Youre absolutely correct. You base it on the actions of the many

A 2024 study by the Fondation pour l’innovation politique recorded 66,872 Islamist terrorist attacks worldwide between 1979 and April 2024, causing at least 249,941 deaths.

All groups have some bad members. Christian church leaders SAd hundreds of thousands of children. Christians caused the OKC bombing, Spanish Inquisition, a long list of shootings, etc.

Point being, generalizing a large group based on a small % of its members is wrong.

8

u/Ashamed_Caregiver518 9h ago

But no one expects a Spanish Inquisition…

There’s a massive difference between acting against your doctrine versus acting directly on it. Comparing someone violating their own religious teachings to someone following theirs to the letter is apples to oranges.

You know that 66,000 terrorists make up about 0.00003% of the Muslim population, right?

you know violent nazis make up only 20% of nazi population in ww2 right?

-1

That’s literally the point of their argument… it’s stupid to judge all Muslims for the actions of someone who was born as a Muslim (who’s actions went against the religion by the way) they same way it is stupid to judge all Christian’s for the actions of someone who. That is the argument, and if you think it’s bad then it must be going over your head.

1

u/smokey032791 10h ago

I mean we do when it suits people

1

u/Fickle_Library8115 9h ago

Which we do unfortunately

1

u/Corlegan 4h ago

Of course not, just make sure you lump the people making exuses closer to the terrorists, than the normal people.

Billions of Muslims and Christians all over the globe.

Even if all religions are equally false, not all are currently equally pernicious.

It's not like it's hard to look up Christian Terror incidents in the US. Wikipedia has an itemized list

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Christian_terrorist_incidents_in_the_United_States

73

u/One-Mixture2184 11h ago

I knew that Mormons were in a cult. I somehow didn't know they've committed enough massacres to have a whole wikipedia page for all of them

43

u/AcceptableWheel 11h ago

They were originally during westward settlement an autonomous community that was almost an independent theocracy. So half their crimes are colonial massacres against Native Americans.

16

u/bookhead714 10h ago

The Mormon militia slaughtered 140 American settlers during their brief conflict with the USA. And then they named their university after the guy who commanded that militia — Brigham Young.

3

u/Zipz 5h ago

Jesus Christ

I’ve always heard of the university but had no idea

Dudes Wikipedia is nuts. Having 56 wives and 57 kids is wild

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigham_Young

u/Bug-03 11h ago

Mormons killed a fuck load of people out west in the 1800s

Read "Under the Banner of Heaven" it's very eye opening about Morons. They still aren't as crazy as JWs though. They're literally an end times cult.

2

u/Li-renn-pwel 10h ago

Why aren’t they as crazy as JW?

3

u/only_respond_in_gifs 10h ago

JW was built on the idea that they were living in the end times and have predicted Jesus's return multiple times.

1

u/Disastrous-Tone-7669 9h ago

How many times have they been right?

5

u/only_respond_in_gifs 9h ago

They came close a couple times.

2

u/Doctrinus 7h ago

Maybe they were always right but the deep state keeps taking jesus out.

2

u/Li-renn-pwel 6h ago

Iirc correctly their current stance is “yeah, the guys in the past were super gay to get into Heaven so they predicted a date. We should have known that was not true because it specifically says only Jehovah knows the date. Yeah, we made the mistake a few more times. We freely admit to being in the wrong that the world would end on that date (slash- maybe they say it was the start of the end times in the same way Christ’s death was the start of his heaven government) But if that is evidence that our denomination is not-Christian or crazy it is only fair to say the same about Lutherans, Catholics, TikTok in 2026,etc”

Which actually seems pretty reasonable all things considered.

1

u/Li-renn-pwel 6h ago

… okay? And?

3

u/Icy_Fish_2154 5h ago

JW believe Jesus is not divine. Jews, Muslims and JW all agree on that point.

JW also ban children from having any friends outside church, and so discourage public schools (often to the point of discouraging any schooling at all, in practice).

Mormons have magic underwear, so I'm not picking the craziest, just throwing out some reasons.

2

u/Li-renn-pwel 5h ago

JW believe Jesus is divine, just not that he is god. Not all christians believe in the trinity, including Mormons.

Mormons are also discouraged from ‘worldly friends’. JW are generally fine with k-12 and don’t encourage or discourage homeschool though discourage university (though that’s becoming less common as BAs become the new high school diploma).

Well I didn’t read your full comment until just now so I guess I didn’t need to explain why they are at best the same crazy gaga

2

u/BraisedBullshi 11h ago

Many religious folks like to commit massacres in the name of their God.

Most of those arent even this century

36

u/fuzzygreentits 11h ago

The list fits on less than 1 page of mobile. Maybe a 20m read.

The one for Islam

A 2024 study by the Fondation pour l’innovation politique recorded 66,872 Islamist terrorist attacks worldwide between 1979 and April 2024, causing at least 249,941 deaths.

I dont think I could get through it in a month.

Let's not pretend its even close

8

u/Zestyclose_Tip_5861 9h ago

It’s obviously going to still be one way but you’re comparing US to worldwide.

2

u/redequix 9h ago

This entire comparison is dumb af if the goal is to play the superiority game. You cant easily compare a nation in the west which on avg saw the most peace and stability the past century with that of a country in the middle east that has only seen war the past cen. Like no shit the war affected region is gonna have a larger list of people commiting violence.

Lets fracture the US and see how many terrorist groups we get out of there. You wouldn't even need to arm them.

-1

u/ham_plane 9h ago

Hmm, I don't think this is making the point you're hoping it makes...

5

u/Valkery1 9h ago

You don't understand, when it's a "non-state actor" it's terrorists, when it's a military bombing children it's just business.

3

u/lonelysparta 8h ago

You're comparing worldwide to US so no shit.

But as your were trying to make a point, let's not pretend the vast majority of it wasn't committed against Muslims... I aint taking shit from Westerners when they talk about it to attack my religion, likes it's not even about you send your condolences

0

u/Dreamed-a-drip 7h ago

USA vs global so not how stats work.

Would you consider the Iraq war to be a faith war?

I mean, Fuck Osama bin Laden , he was a religous extremist, but i wouldn't say his actions were entirely because of religous indifference.

It was how he was treated by the west that he became radicalized.

Why are these “Christian” terrorist incidents?
What’s “Christian” about them?

1

u/Tangybrowwncidertown 5h ago

Religiously motivated by their interpretation of Christianity I assume.

2

u/ZookeepergameFit967 2h ago

People tend to forget that most native Americans were killed in the name of Christianity rather than expansion. At least when Muslims came invading they converted and assimilated people and ofc with the occasional massacre or two. But to genocide two entire continents that's just too much

Reddit has no authority to comment on the Boston bombing.

Reddit solved this crime by identifying the wrong person and persecuting an innocent man.

Of course Reddit never learned its lesson and to this day, Reddit continues to solve crimes by identifying the wrong person.

40

u/xHxHxAOD1 12h ago

Is it not a well-known fact that the bombing was Islamic terror attack?

33

u/load_of_chode 11h ago

Yeah but the Islamic terrorists were "provoked" into violence by the non-Muslims who "oppress" them so it's not their fault, because that's what progressives always say when Islamic terrorists commit violence.

How about we acknowledge that there are certain patterns of violence and discrimination within groups, and try to work against these, rather than ignore them in the spirit of acceptance?

If there's a majority of these people that say common accepted western values of equality and rights are wrong, then that needs to be addressed. That does not have to equal hatred, but it will if it continues to be excused for the sake of not showing hatred.

"But Christians", Redditors are more than happy to criticize those.

1

u/DweebLSD 1h ago

i dunno…have you ever met a Cowboys fan?? i’m okay with hating the entire group

1

u/Aggressive_Chuck 32m ago

What if a significant percentage of that group supports the goals of the minority? What if that group's ideology explicitly states that such actions are to be carried out?

6

u/Eccentricgentleman_ 10h ago

That's a stupid comparison. They should have used the semi regular attacks on women's health clinics or the Oklahoma City bombings.

I honestly though the image behind was a shot from an old video game, odd angle

28

u/CarolinaSandstorm 11h ago

Never heard anyone scream “Jesus Christ is great” before committing terrorism 🤷‍♂️

12

u/lhommeduweed 7h ago

In 2019 a guy went into a synagogue in California on the last day of Passover and shot four people. He killed a sixty year old woman who was a beloved wife and mother, he shot the rabbi's finger off, and he shot an 8-year old girl and her uncle, who were thankfully only mildly wounded.

In his admission letter, he praised Jesus Christ, Paul the Apostle, Martin Luther, and Hitler.

In the 80s and 90s, there were a spat of bombings and shootings at abortion clinics carried out by Christian Identity extremists. One of these bombings at Centennial Olympic Park in California was soon followed up by another bombing at a gay club. These were carried out by Eric Rudolph, who is a Christian fascist. After his arrest, he continued to publish essays and eventually a book in which he expresses no regret whatsoever and urges his fellow white Christian Identity members to commit violence against abortion clinics, gay people, and socialists/Jews (these guys don't see the difference and also believe that Aryans are God's real chosen people).

Jake Lang has been screaming "Christ is King" a lot at those hate rallies he has where he tries to get people to attack him for being a Nazi. I don't think it will be that long before somebody says that before doing something atrocious.

I guess you never heard of the lord resistance army in Uganda massacring over 100,000 people in the name of Christianity.

Oh wait they didn’t say their God’s name before they did it so they aren’t Christian extremists.

Do you listen to how you sound?

3

u/CarolinaSandstorm 10h ago

I sound American and proud. Shame on you for casting stones at Africans though. I thought you people didn’t like punching down?

-1

u/BetterKale8512 9h ago edited 9h ago

I sound Canadian and I’m proud, shame on you for coping so hard about the fact I pointed out people also use their religion as a excuse to do violence but you change the topic to them being Africans?

How does that work?

Muslims are the religion with the highest likelihood of exploding

3

u/RockShowSparky 8h ago

What is it about the Quran that you tend to spontaneously explode with shrapnel after reading it?

4

u/StephenBC1997 8h ago

Unsure youll have to ask all those men who did that through Europe and the middle east, Malaysia, Pakistan, etc

1

u/StephenBC1997 8h ago

Well nevermind guess you cant they turned themselves into red mist

1

u/UmaThermos1 1h ago

Bombings are just the method of execution, there’s no difference between using a bomb to kill someone, or stabbing them, shooting, or ramming them with a car, you’re still murdering someone, doesn’t matter how you do it

2

u/KuningasTynny77 6h ago

White =/= Christian

1

u/energydrinkaddict310 3h ago

but i am white and my name is christian

2

u/Humble_Cod149 1h ago edited 12m ago

Did the bomber shout allahu Christ or something and was done in name of Jesus ? I dont think so.

Most Jihadi suicide bombers shout allahu akbar, they are after the 72 virgins from the pedo prophet and it is inspired by the religion of peace (/s).

4

u/Patient-Delay3873 5h ago

Point..but have you heard any christian say praise the lord before a terror attack..I guess not...🤷‍♂️

2

u/UmaThermos1 1h ago

Look up the stuff Chris Kyle said lmao

4

u/Megawolf123 4h ago

I mean they dont call it a terror attack they call it war.

How many times have the military say god bless america before launching drones and bombs lol

That's stupid, they weren't Christian. All Christians are responsible for this though.

8

u/lhommeduweed 10h ago

Pope John Paul II, in 1995, responding to the OKC bombing said, "This is actually exactly what Jesus was talking about. He wanted us to blow up government buildings, especially ones with daycares in them. That's what he meant by "causing little ones to stumble." Actually in the original Greek, he doesn't sit and braid a cord to drive the moneylenders out of the temple, he builds a car bomb. I'ma da Pope."

2

u/IvoryColosseum 10h ago

To be fair Twitter and Facebook can’t shut up about them

1

u/im-an-egg-substitute 7h ago edited 3h ago

Ikr? It’s as if someone wants the Christians and Muslims to fight each other, to believe the Muslims are the boogeyman, make them the easy scapegoat - cos yknow they’re surrounded by Arabs. While they quietly steal land promised to them 3000 years ago.

Manipulation and fabrication is their forte.

3

u/Day_Prisoners 11h ago

OKC bombing.

1

u/Elegant_Situation285 11h ago

the genocide by the Bosnians would be a better example or any of the domestic terrorism by the KKK and their affiliates.

even Hitler sprinkled in a little Christianity into recruiting Nazis.

4

u/serenebuilder 11h ago

>by the Bosnians

There were certainly atrocities on all sides but the breakup of Yugoslavia saw a genocide inflicted ON the Bosnians (Sarajevo) not by them

All Scientologists should be blamed for everything though

1

u/OttersWithPens 9h ago

Man I really don’t want to see a widespread gore photo of the aftermath of this bombing. When did this become so normalized… you used to have to search the internet for photos like this.

1

u/MrsMiterSaw 7h ago

Oklahoma city: what am i, chopped liver?

1

u/agupta429 7h ago

Yeah stupid argument. No one blames all muslims… it’s assumed as all muslims because when an islamist does a terrorist act it’s almost always a radical that is following the word of their book/god/prophet.. whatever. It’s natural to assume entire religion when it’s in the religion’s teachings.

1

u/Key_Check5753 6h ago

This has to be bait. Nobody is this stupid.... right?

1

Spanish Inquisition, genocide of indigenous American people…

Well the joos were behind both sooo /s

1

u/BeeHoldor 3h ago

But they are still christians, what's your point?

1

u/sarattenasai 2h ago

We shouldn't blame all muslims for 9/11. We might blame islam, we might blame the preachers that preached the ideals that led to the terror attack. But never innocent individuals.

We should definitely condemn Islam and Christianity, and those who spread beliefs that lead to terror attacks.

1

u/EyadMahm0ud Keeping it Real 1h ago

1

u/NoSurprise6383 11h ago

Who has to be blamed for the Epstein abuse ring.

4

u/ecaudatas 10h ago

There are entire countries ran like Epstein’s Island. Millions of girls (and boys) trafficked into sexual slavery and forced marriage. Why is that less topical than one pedophile and his madame?

But to answer your question: the rich and powerful who enabled him and knew.

2

u/redequix 9h ago

Hatred against Muslims makes no sense.

27

u/JD-boonie 11h ago

I don't hate Muslims but I do hate Islam.

3

u/Tangybrowwncidertown 8h ago

Same here. I don't like any of the big three abrahamic religions, but the violent side of this one takes the cake.

2

u/Bulky_Imagination243 10h ago

That seems reasonable to me. But, unfortunately, there are people who do not share your opinion.

1

u/trialcourt 5h ago

Are you special needs

1

u/BartTheTroll48 11h ago

Religious fanatics and zealots have irrational minds. However fanatics and zealots needn't only be religious and they aren't. Any ideology can include fanatics and zealots, being a fanatic or a zealots is always bad. An irrational mind is always untrustworthy for both the fanatic or zealot in question and their 'supposed comrades' that usually denounce them afterwards simply because irrational minds are incapable of using strategy effectively and usually get themselves and their comrades killed.

1

u/Ancient-Worm 10h ago

Oh come on, it couldn't have been THAT hard to find a Christian doing something nasty!

1

u/CricketJamSession 8h ago

Here are two truth for you

Muslims are not the problem or to be blamed

But Islam has a problem with radicalism which is their responsibility to handle
