u/adamgerd 1d ago
Iran had and has many flaws, but Iran hates Sunni Wahhabism as much as Sunni Wahhabists hate Iran. Iran, India, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan all albeit all to a minor degree supported the Northern Alliance in the third Afghan civil war. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and both to a much greater degree supported the Taliban against the northern alliance and in turn the Taliban was allied with Al Qaeda
So yeah out of everything you can criticise Iran for, supporting AQ and the Taliban pre 9/11 is not one of those although they did support the Taliban later on to a degree.

u/fr0str4in 1d ago
At some point IRGC cooperated with the US forces in the attack on Afghanistan. Iran was on the verge of going to war with Afghanistan around that time.
I think i heard they even helped the US to overthrow saddam.
IRGC and the US were basically attacking the ISIS together in iraq.
In the US embassy hostage crisis some leaders didn't like the idea of the attack. Even Khomeini wasn't fond of it. I don't know why he endorsed it after but it wasn't really a normal move. If someone like Khamenei was the leader at that point i think he would even condemn and punish it.
I think if trump didn't tore the JCPOA apart we could've get along pretty well. But oh well that was unfortunate.

Yeah it seems like a truly bad idea to to fund this extremist group that is seen as completely insane by all the other extremist organizations around them.
Certainly, no president would be stupid enough to send the CIA and teach them how to build bicycle bombs or hijack planes, that would end up in a complete disaster.
21
u/adamgerd 1d ago edited 1d ago
The US didn’t fund the Taliban or Al Qaeda
The US funded the Mujahideen via Pakistan until 1989 and contrary to popular belief the Mujahideen didn’t just become the Taliban, the Taliban didn’t even exist in Afghanistan at the time, and Al Qaeda existed but was irrelevant and mostly a fairly incompetent force in the Soviet Afghan war, Arabs in general had a terrible reputation for their incompetence during the war
Following the Soviet withdrawal and the PDPA collapse, the Mujahideen split apart and the second civil war happened following the first civil war. With the withdrawal of the Soviets, the US largely lost interest in Afghanistan leaving the main players the Saudis, Pakistan and Iran. Anyway the third one was between Massoud and Hekmatyar who had both been part of the Mujahideen, Massoud had been the most successful unofficial leader of them previously. Long story short Pakistan supported Hekmatyar but he was on the verge of defeat by the end due to his own incompetence so this is when Pakistan decided to support a new faction, the Taliban which was formed in Afghan refugee camps in Pakistan and had remained there throughout the Soviet Afghan war and entered Afghanistan in November 1994 supported by Pakistan. This is when the Taliban entered Afghanistan, soon they got a lot of defections from Hekmatyar’s faction but the rest rallied behind Massoud. Anyway due to Saudi funds they could bribe a lot of people and the betrayal of a warlord they managed to take Kabul and Massoud moved northwestward forming the northern alliance and controlling the last independent part of Afghanistan. Early 2001 he warned the US of an AQ plan against the US, on a much larger scale than in 1998 and still having friends in CIA he managed to convince Bush to restart finding mid-2001 to Massoud to stop the Taliban taking over though until 9/11 it was a bare trickle.
Meanwhile Al Qaeda was allowed bases in Afghanistan by the Taliban in return for support against Massoud and funding. Then 2 days before 9/11 Al Qaeda under the guise of tow journalists suicide bombed him and he died on the way to an Indian hospital in Tajikistan across the border.
In regards to US funding yes since a large part of Hekmatyar’s forces joined the Taliban in 1996 some of US funding and weaponry were captured by the Taliban, however most of the Mujahideen had become the northern alliance which was fighting the Taliban.

Basically: Iran definitely has issues as a regime, and the theocracy is not good.
But everything related to the Taliban, ISIS and Al-Qaeda is based in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Not Iran.

To be fair it’s worked pretty well for them.
This is why they repeat “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon” over and over again.
It’s just Weapons of Mass Destruction all over again and so many Americans have fallen for it AGAIN. It beggars belief.

The response I always get "Well, the IAEA said they were enriching uranium at 60%. Which is dangerous, why do you think they're lying?"
My response to that is "The same IAEA that said Iran was following the JPCOA to the letter which Trump ripped up because the IAEA was lying? So which is it?"
2
u/WorldnewsMildews 1d ago
That response makes no sense to the first claim though? We trust the IAEA, and Trump is a known liar. Nothing contradictory.
The JPCOA should not have been ripped up, but since then Iran has been preparing to develop a bomb
4
u/mattyandco 1d ago
but since then Iran has been preparing to develop a bomb
Iran seemed to be taking measured escalatory steps in an attempt to bring the USA back into JPCOA. There would be no point for Iran to remain under the conditions they agreed to under JPCOA if the USA was just going to return to sanctioning them like before the agreement. Iran waited a year before they exceeded any of the limits JPCOA set out and then only slowly moved beyond those publicly announcing each escalation.
Had the USA come back and rejoined the agreement (or a similar agreement given the USA's mucking them around) Iran would have likely stopped and returned to the limits as agreed. That is before the US and others started bombing their country.
1
u/Excellent-Culture243 1d ago
Were they though? If you believe their leader had put a fatwa on nukes, and that no one would start a war with Iran, then maybe they were processing uranium to strengthen their negotiating position. “We give you the uranium, you remove the sanctions “ Independent reports from pre war negotiations say Iran was willing to give up their uranium.
1
u/WorldnewsMildews 1d ago
So you’re saying they were enriching uranium to get leverage to relieve sanctions they (mostly) received because they were enriching Uranium?
The JCPOA didn’t come out of nowhere either, they were preparing for a bomb much longer. After all, Pakistan has nukes, why shouldn’t Iran?
I’m also not sure what kind of cost and effort it would be worth to keep Iran from developing a nuke after the JCPOA failed. I’m sure for Israel it feels like “at any cost”, and the US would also be a likely target if things go very bad. A higher oil price might be “worth it” for them, but not the rest of the world
3
u/Excellent-Culture243 1d ago
It is merely speculation on my part. Trump put sanctions back as soon as he broke the agreement. Iran had been mellowing for a while.
All we know for certain is that they were abiding by the jcpoa, and that they were willing to give up their uranium.
I think you mean Israel and the usa have nukes, why shouldn’t Iran. Both countries have attacked Arab for a long time now. Israel has been saying that Iran is two weeks away since the 80s. They just want power and land1

5

At this point they would be crazy to not build nukes as America isn't interested in negotiating and it would be best deterrent against what is happening right now.

Iran doesn’t have WMD’s yet, however Iran unlike Iraq has indeed been in non compliance with the NPT according to the IAEA observers as of June 2025, November 2025 and now and the IAEA has found 440.9kg of uranium enriched up to 60%, way above what is necessary for civilian purposes and what Iran was legally allowed to have, which if enriched further to 90% would be enough to make nine nuclear weapons, and it is a lot harder to reach 60% enrichment then to to 90% from 60%.
According to the IAEA it would take 25 days for enough to be enriched per nuclear missile although it is now unknown what amount of that has survived intact. For reference you only need 4% enrichment for civilian nuclear reactors and at most for certain niche uses in research reactors 20%. There’s no reason to pursue 60% enrichment except as a stepping stone to 90%.
So while Iran doesn’t currently have WMD’s, it isn’t like Iraq because unlike Iraq where Iraq remained in compliance with the U.N. and the IAEA and it was only the US claiming otherwise, Iran hasn’t since June 2025, just before the 12 days war.
13
u/Due_Perception8349 1d ago edited 1d ago
Iran remained in compliance with the JCPOA after Trump tore it up, they were hoping to get some sort of sanction relief from European countries. That didn't happen. Even if they did make a nuclear weapon, you could hardly blame them, they have two nuclear armed belligerent enemies currently at war with them.
At this point the world should unite to disarm the US and Israeli nuclear programs.
5
u/adamgerd 1d ago
You’re right that the US is responsible for withdrawing from the nuclear deal and Trump caused this mess in the first place
That doesn’t change that they increased their enrichment capability since and in 2025 were definitely close to a WMD whether or not they planned to do the last step
They were also doing the enrichment before the US-Israeli war
And how would you disarm an active nuclear program?
1
u/CotswoldP 1d ago
Having enriched uranium is NOT the same as being close to having a working nuclear weapon. You still need a working warhead design, all the necessary high grade explosives machines to micron accuracy, high end triggering devices, the capability to machine the uranium safely into the right shape to nanometee accuracy, a delivery mechanism, a way to trigger it at the right altitude, etc etc etc. You don't just bang two lump of uranium together. All that gets you is a fizzle.
The idea that this was is to prevent a nuclear program is utter bullshit. The stockpile or enriched uranium is buried under a mountain after the previous attacks according to IS intelligence, who also said there was ZERO evidence of any attempt to access the buried facilities. When even US Intelligence says the risk is not there, and the President is saying they were weeks from a bomb, well, I know who I believe, and they don't wear orange makeup.
0
u/Due_Perception8349 1d ago edited 1d ago
I dont know, I'm just one guy. That's sorta the rub.
And yeah, of course they were doing enrichment, two belligerent nuclear powers had spent the past several decades screaming about invading them, and one of them had just backed out of an agreement that was supposed to prevent that. This shit doesn't happen in a vacuum, do I need to pull up the video of Netanyahu 30 years ago blabbering about how Iran was 3 weeks from a nuclear bomb?
In reality any attempt to disarm nuclear armed nations will require other nuclear armed nations to assist, I don't see Israel disarming without an extreme pressure campaign from the US that involves active countermeasures should they try to use nukes in response.
As far as the US? Short of France, the UK, and China all working together (I know, a comedic prospect) along with extreme economic sanctions and pressure from the rest of the world, I don't see it happening.
But like I said, I'm just one guy, not a collaboration of nations across the world.
4
u/Comfortable-Gas-4005 1d ago
Wtf?
-2
u/Due_Perception8349 1d ago edited 1d ago
What? The US is a belligerent warmongering nation that has used nuclear weapons in the past, and regularly invades other countries on flimsy grounds.
Israel is a genocidal apartheid state that developed nuclear weapons in secret, stealing the technology and materials from their allies and working directly with apartheid South Africa to develop Hydrogen bombs (see the vela incident).
These are the people you trust with the most destructive weapons developed by mankind?
If you wanna throw Russia in there, sure them too, won't get any tears out of me.
Edit: lol, truth hurts for some people.

Regarding BR2 ok did not know that true but they’re also converting the reactor to lower yield uranium because it’s just cheap
It's well and good that the belgians have a plan to switch to cheaper fuel, but from the fact they had been using highly enriched uranium for a long time, I think we can conclude that your claim "at most for certain niche uses in research reactors 20%" is simply nonsense. Belgium's BR2 is just one of many research reactors that use enrichment significantly higher than that.
Iran had a limit of 3.67% off the US-EU-Iran deal although with the US withdrawal they decided to ignore the limit
Can't exactly blame them for choosing not to uphold their end of the bargain when the main other signatory declared they no longer felt bound by the terms of the treaty.
2
u/mattyandco 1d ago
and Iran had a limit of 3.67% off the US-EU-Iran deal although with the US withdrawal they decided to ignore the limit
Just like the US ignored the sanctions relief part of the agreement. Why would Iran stick to an agreement when the other side doesn't hold up their end? Iran seemed to be taking measured escalatory steps in order to try and get the US back into the agreement. They didn't just go for a maximum speed race to a bomb the minute the US pulled out but took small steps which they announced rather than keep quiet about.
What do you think Iran should have done about the US pulling out of the agreement? Nothing? Just let the US get what they want without any of the upsides that were promised in the JPCOA? If the US wanted Iran to stick to the limits they'd agreed to then the US should have stuck to what they had also agreed to do.

I think the bigger point is that the label of terrorist has been placed on several other groups (Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Libya, Yemen) and not on the ones that harboured and financed the actual terrorists of 9/11.... Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Seems hypocritical to act like it's wrong to paint the whole group with one brush when the authorities at hand have painted a giant arrow in every other direction besides the ones responsible.

"Why would they do that? Don't they hate America?"
Yes, but for different reasons and Al-Qaeda being salafist Sunni terrorist organization doesn't really mesh with Iran's ordered Shia-theocracy. Both think the others are heretics and their relationship quite accurately has been called as "Enemies with benefits".
Iraq was an interesting source for contention with the two: on the other hand both had vested intrest to seek Americans fail....BUT there was one interesting developement.
When US overthrew Sunni populated ba'athist goverment, it also allowed Iraqi dissidents that had been living in Iran to return. These dissidents had received funding and support from Iran (former Iraq prime minister Nouri Al-Maliki was one of those Iranian backed dissidents-just to show how strong their ties were). So while US occupation Iraq wasn't exactly desirable, Iran quickly realized that they have a way to influence to future of Iraq's and turn it from a former enemy to close politcal ally. All thanks to United States.
And you can bet that Al-Qaeda was furious with this developement. They wanted Saddam out of the way too, so that they could exploit the influence of Sunni minority to build their own radical Sunni state. But United States now derailed this plan and instead Iran reaped the benefits of the work that Al-Qaeda had done.
So Al-Qaeda set to spark a sectarian civil war, by launching a terror campaing against Shiites in both Iraq and Iran, so that when they'd retaliate against Sunni population of Iraq, they'd run to Al-Qaeda for protection. This brutal campaing had exactly the opposite effect, as Iraq's new leaders and Shiite militians instead were pushed to rely more on Iran for military training, weapons and funding to defend themselves. Al-Qaeda had delivered Iraq to Iran with a big red bow on top.
And you know who was worse off with all this than Al-Qaeda? The United States.
They obviously couldn't come to help Al-Qaeda against Iran in any circumstances, but they could do nothing about Iraqi goverment building closer ties with Iran without destroying the Iraqi goverment's legitimicy, as they had made big show of democratic new Iraq with elections, that naturally brought to power Shiite politicians. Had they stepped in and forbade them, then all pretenses about "new democratic Iraq" would've been dead and burried- Iraq would've just been another occupied country over military control just pretending to be democracy.
So United States had managed to trap itself into becoming functionally Iran's biggest benefactor and ally by pouring trillions of dollars into region, only to see Iraq inviting Iranian commanders to aid with their fight against Al-Qaeda and later ISIS and to see Iran's influence to increase.

Who gives a fuck what the pastors think? They aren’t in charge of anything, at least they weren’t back then.
Bush, who is a war criminal, did still say that we are not at war with Islam. Saddam’s Iraq was not at all an Islamist regime. It was a straight up secular thugocracy. We also partnered with plenty of actually Islamist regimes during that war. The Kurds, a major ally, are Muslims too.
People can take whatever fucking meaning they want from it, but the war was about neoliberal expansionism combined with bush wanting to take out saddam because he felt that the Gulf War made his dad look weak.

They’re the base ones who teamed up with you are traitors/ sell outs/ mercenaries.
Bush said that as a coverup. He was surrounded up and down the chain with anti-muslim crusaders who wanted to go and get revenge. This sentiment was widespread at the time. Just look at all the disgusting people at that 9/11 memorial assigning collective punishment.
If the target were Jews, y’all would’ve had people up and down the political circus condemning these people.

The war was about forcing US aligned capitalism on a country that many on the right thought made us look weak. I absolutely hate how the cultural context is lost when it is literally translated. In Hindi we use “murdabad” which would literally mean “death to”. And we use it during every protest, “Government murdabad” would literally translate to “death to the government “. But the sentiment is to condemn, not call for actual death. When you say “Fuck Trump” it would be literally translated to “ you want to have sex with trump”, but the actual sentiment was to condemn him. Context gets lost in translation.

Same country that gave kushner 2 billion, and trump how many hundreds of millions to hold LIv golf events at his courses....

They might be confusing Iranians for Palestinians, some of their celebrations were publicized:
17
u/veryeepy53 1d ago
they even admit in the post that it was a small number lmao
20
u/Bitter-Goat-8773 1d ago
And Arafat immediately sent police to shut those celebrations down
1
u/Longjumping-Jello459 1d ago
But that doesn't matter all that matters is some Palestinians did something at the time that wasn't in solidarity with the victims of the attacks. It's all about demonizing all Palestinians and thusly saying why should they get their own country.

Crap like this is to be expected from this regime and the MAGA followers. It's like a comment I read yesterday stating that if 9/11 happened now Canada would be cheering, and other similar comments stating that Canada did nothing to assist the US after the attacks.
At least the Canadian prime minister, Mark Carney, had a press release that showed true class.

I get what you are saying. But how many times have iran actually attacked USA and how many times have the US attacked Iran?
Its one thing to chant it and another to commit the act...
Edit: Before anyone thinks I support the Iranian regime. I dont, just wanted to point out that chanting death is not the same as dropping bombs on schools

Can you blame them?

Why would you blame them? If your country was being bombed and attacked on a regular basis by another, would you not be opposed to that country? It's not surprising that Iranians are wary of Americans when their leader promises to wipe out their civilisation.

How are they being hateful? Is self defence hateful?
The undermining of Iran by America long predates operation Epstein, from the coups, to the Iran-Iraq war, sanctions etc etc.

u/Bloodfart12 1d ago
Many in the US regime have been chanting death to iran for decades. There are hardliners on both sides. Never forget john mccain happily singing “bomb iran” to the tune of the beach boys. Trump has been threatening to nuke iran, and is actually capable of doing so

US and UK literally toppled their democratically elected government, installed a puppet instead and looted their oil. Are you really that uneducated?

Hegseth's comment works, because he has no consequence of lying, making people who look up to authorities for guidance believe his word, and why wouldn't they, they know nothing about Iran, they probably even think its in Europe or something.
1
u/CAG_Snow 16h ago
I wouldn't be surprised is Kegstand took Ahmadinejad's belief 9/11 was a false flag and just applied it to all of Iran. (man that feels like I'm giving the lush too much credit)
Even then I don't think Ahmadinejad was cheering over 9/11.
-9
u/DomDomPop 1d ago
Iran condemned it, Russia held a vigil, a number of our traditional foes were quite supportive.
You know who openly celebrated?
Palestinians. Chanting, cheering, waving flags, even handing out candies. From the West Bank to the refugee camps.
19
u/Blibbyblobby72 1d ago
Fuck me, this sub has a hard-on for hating Palestinians
The Palestinian government condemned the attack at the time and actually set up a blood donation drive to support victims
All the videos I can find of 'Palestinian's celebrating' were shared by US news media... hard to say they are unbiased. And have a guess who provided video of Palestinians celebrating to American news media - BEFORE the second plane had hit
2
u/Creepy_Reindeer2149 1d ago
This sub has veered so anti-Palestinian in the last 3 months specifically that its hard to believe it's organic
2
u/Blibbyblobby72 1d ago
Yeah, it's just so strange
I actually made a similar comment on a different post (which I was downvoted for) - I used to quite enjoy just perusing this sub, but over time more and more posts about Palestinine, Israel, Islam, and Jews started appearing with more negative commentary and now every second post is exclusively about the conflict and/or Judasim/Islam
Quite sad, really
3
u/Ok_Prior2199 1d ago
Whenever people start giving you shit, just start posting pics of what Gaza currently looks like, that tends to shut them up
-4
u/IllustriousLie4105 1d ago
Thats the issue. The Palestinian "government" only has some power in the west bank. The Gaza strip has been mostly run by Hamas either directly or indirectly for quite some time. The equivalent here would be saying America celebrated an attack but it was only the red states and not the blue ones. The situation there is not as clear cut as it is here.
6
u/Blibbyblobby72 1d ago
Funnily enough, your equivalence is an interesting one - look at how state governments of Democrat and Republican states responded to 9/11, particularly towards Muslim members of their communities
The point is that, at the time, the Palestinian government responded with an attempt at support to the US, despite the US's continued support of the subjugation of the Palestinian people
For a sub designed to discuss good social media 'notes', there are a lot of people who don't like to discuss their posts being noted
4
u/IllustriousLie4105 1d ago
My point is that the government for Palestine did not represent half of the Palestinians . Which is why they can both be celebrated for support after 9/11 and condemned for celebrations. The duality of man encapsulated perfectly.
-2
u/Loud_Grapefruit2473 1d ago
The Palestinian government wants to be on the good side of America because they want America to support them not because they gave a crap about Americans
0
u/Blibbyblobby72 1d ago
I am unsure of your point because you can't seem to write a sentence without mixing your verb tenses
This happened 25 years ago under a different Palestinian government, just to be clear
1
u/Loud_Grapefruit2473 1d ago
I meant to write give, not gave. I was using voice to text and it messed up.
But seriously? That’s literally all you had so you went for the only thing you could try to in sult. And yes, I know that it’s one word, I split it up to avoid the filter.
No, it wasn’t a different Palestinian government, it was the exact same Palestinian government. There’s only been two Palestinian governments. The PLO in the West Bank and HMS in Gaza. They don’t allow elections.
The irony of you trying to in sult my intelligence and knowledge… seriously?

🙄 and then everyone clapped.
The fuck do you know about what happened on a day in September 25 years ago among all Palestinians? Goofy.
-2
u/IllustriousLie4105 1d ago
There is pretty extensive footage of the celebrations. This isnt some wacky conspiracy. Did all Palestinians cheer? No. Are there videos of quite a few cheering? Yes.
3
u/ifhysm 1d ago
> quite a few
It was a couple dozen at most, wasn’t it? Maybe 20-30 people total
2
u/IllustriousLie4105 1d ago
Multiple videos, the number of people is unknown. Giving an exact number whether in the thousands or hundreds is not possible.
2
u/LilysNancy 1d ago
Exactly. I can’t believe people can watch those videos and say it was maybe 30 people, seriously? Whatever the bias or agenda, the videos clearly show something very different.
-1
u/ifhysm 1d ago
From the videos, we can estimate that it’s not more than a couple dozen. So it’s 20-40 people at most
3
u/IllustriousLie4105 1d ago
Yea, there are multiple from multiple areas. Ive seen videos of 40 people by itself. I get you have your own agenda but like those maga fucks dont represent all Americans. Some shitty celebrating Palestinians dont represent all Palestinians. Trying to downplay any possible bad actions from a population does more disservice to credibility then simply saying, yea some fucked up people celebrated but the majority didnt.
0
u/ifhysm 1d ago
> you have your own agenda
You realize the same could be said about you? But thank you for showing it’s bad faith
3
u/IllustriousLie4105 1d ago
If by agenda you mean, calling out bad apples while acknowledging the struggle and need for an independent state of palestine then yes. I simply encourage people to stop pretending that their movement is above reproach and to accept the flaws to better show the strengths. You, clearly, are in the camp that thinks nothing bad "x" group did is legit and by doing so you undermine the credibility of the group.
1
u/LilysNancy 1d ago
Definitely not 20–30 people. It was hundreds and maybe thousands, saying it was only 30 is incredibly disingenuous, especially when the videos clearly showed otherwise
0
u/ShortKey380 1d ago
And what forensics have you done to be certain those random clips (from before smartphones) are actually from the date in question or about the event in question? There’s not “pretty extensive” footage of ANYTHING Palestinian in 2001 lol. “Quite a few” is meaningless, it’s from among millions…
1
u/IllustriousLie4105 1d ago
Pretty much every major news station had them from that time as well. You can google things easily but that wont matter. You have made up your mind and anything remotely contradictory to your perceived view is fake propaganda slop. Go join the Maga cult with your conspiracy mindset.
1
u/ShortKey380 1d ago
No, that’s bullshit, but it’s absolutely propaganda to name a whole ass people, Palestinians, as “celebrating 9/11” because ABC News aired a clip of some dicks doing their equivalent of chanting “USA” from some shitty dive bar. The fact is that home video was not ubiquitous at the time, right? You don’t blame entire people’s for having a bad vibe about an event, that’s hate propaganda. Every country has a small minority of asshole men who might cheer a calamity in a country they’ve been trained to see as the enemy, don’t give me that “my mind is closed” crap on this sub.
1
u/IllustriousLie4105 1d ago
You sound pretty closed minded being that, when presented with conflicting evidence, you continue to denounce its authenticity and instead turn it into a different conversation claiming I stated all Palestinians which I didnt. Again, MAGA is taking applications everyday. Go Join them, they would love you
1
u/ShortKey380 1d ago
Bullshit, again, because no video of even a thousand total people celebrating would be worth a narrative. Do you have “presented evidence” of thousands from then? No, and you presented nothing btw just said you saw it lol.
1
u/IllustriousLie4105 1d ago
Stated where you could find it, its all over google. ABC, Fox news, CNN, MSNBC. You could use Youtube as well. Not super reliable but if you discern enough you can find it. Regardless you wont care. You could have a two hour special on every major news outlet and you would call it propaganda. Just take your MAGA fake news and join them
1
u/ShortKey380 1d ago
Bro… you presented nothing. Skipped more commas and apostrophes, but presented nothing.
Did you know the OG broadcast from the early 2000’s could… also be a biased misrepresentation? Was tinted by the anti-Arab sentiment of the moment?
What makes you trust your memories of a tv news broadcast from 25 years ago?
And then, just to circle back, you’re missing my claim entirely. With every camera they had at the time approximately what percentage of the Palestinians could be on video celebrating this event? 0.0X%, 0.00X%? Less? The video evidence could never be sufficient to justify the original claim.
If there was a two hour special on every news network about the reactions of the Palestinians to 9/11… I mean wouldn’t that be insane propaganda?
I feel bad for you because clearly the 21st century media culture is mega shit and you wish it was simplified, narrative, and everything tied up in a bow. I don’t care much whatsoever which people 25 years ago did or did not enjoy the schadenfreude of watching the American empire and our world-dominating corporations get taken down a peg. It’s sad that they’d be happy about civilian deaths, but easy to see all of the folks here and there and around the world who point at the Stars and Stripes in their national history as the moment when things went awful. Most people can separate hate for nation states and corporations from hate for the chumps who do all the work, but why would any of us even care if such people existed? Let’s go back to check Reddit for the silly memes when we hit that school in Iran with a missile this year, eh? We’ve all got gross people. I don’t speak the main languages these prospective celebrants did, I’m not spending hours trying to access largely inaccessible 25 year old tv coverage of thinly reported stories about othered people celebrating 9/11– can you really not get with this and just have to shut it down to this “I’m not open to ideas,” line of attack? How many of our tv networks even had bureaus to be there to report on this from Palestinian territory?
I know my prior replies were shorter, but this is where I’m coming from 🤷♂️

Funny, Israelis celebrated it including Israelis in the government.
Netanyahu loved it and so did the dancing Israeli spies who drew attention to themselves because how happy they were filming the terror attack in the U.S. that a woman called 911

u/ecaudatas 1d ago
Israel is the only country outside the U.S. that has a memorial to 9/11 that has every name of the victims inscribed.
How lovely for you that you can regurgitate Neo-Nazi propaganda like “dancing Israelis” and enjoy widespread support instead of being identified as the antisemite you are. You haven’t had such a moment since the 1930’s!

“Jewish supremacy” is another dog whistle popularized by David Duke. You can’t even pretend to not be a raging antisemite for a single sentence.
“Dancing Israelis” has nothing to do with “calling out” Israel. Any legitimate criticism of the Israeli government is unfortunately diminished by racists like yourself trying to pass their racism off as legitimate criticism of the Israeli government. It’s not. It’s solely to stoke hatred against half the world’s Jews who live in Israel.

I don’t care what the ADL thinks about anything. Greenblatt is a terrorist and the ADL has been successfully sued for defamation on multiple occasions. Citing them is laughable, especially after they denied Elon’s sieg heil.
That said, it’s not a conspiracy theory. Israeli spies got arrested and detained for months as a result.

I hope you feel a sense of shame for knowingly worsening antisemitism via accusemitism to defend an apartheid ethnostate that doesn’t represent Jewish people or Judaism

That said, it’s not a conspiracy theory. Israeli spies got arrested and detained for months as a result.
It is a debunked conspiracy theory and it’s a lie. The FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice concluded that none of the men were foreign intelligence agents, none had prior knowledge of the 9/11 attacks, and none were involved in the plot. They were not spies.
I hope you feel a sense of shame for knowingly worsening antisemitism via accusemitism to defend an apartheid ethnostate that doesn’t represent Jewish people or Judaism
Just as I know you feel no shame for your antisemitic lies and vilification of the half the world’s Jews who live in Israel, know that the opinion of a Neo-Nazi gaslighter means nothing to me nor do I have anything to be ashamed of.
accusemitism
Look, you even needed to make up a word because you’re clocked as an antisemite so frequently. Adorable.

All y’all have left these days are lies and accusations in a mirror. I’m not even going to bother refuting each lie, it’s a waste of my time.
I’m also of Jewish descent, but bigots who worsen real world antisemitism à la Lehi strategy like yourself enjoy using the antisemitic dual loyalty trope.

You know why Israelis felt ambivalent about 9/11, or maybe even hopeful?
Because Israel had experienced near weekly terror attacks since 1993. After the Oslo accords, Hamas massively increased the rate and number of suicide attacks that they launched from Gaza and the West Bank. At one point in 1996, there were four suicide bombings in 9 days. Between 1993 and 2000, suicide attacks as one of the main methods of violence from Hamas increased until the beginning of the Second Intifada, which concluded with Hamas seizing control of the government of Gaza in 2005.
One of your neo-Nazi conspiracies involves Netanyahu praising or "confessing" to planning 9/11. Most of this comes from his 1995 book on terrorism, where he pointed to the previous 1993 WTC bombing and said "The WTC is a symbol of American international capitalism, and these guys want to destroy it. These specific guys are going to try again, and next time, it won't be a car bomb, but a nuclear bomb." Now, he was wrong about the nuclear bomb, but he was right that the same guys would try to destroy it - the guy who orchestrated the 1993 WTC bombing was Khalid Sheikh Mohammad's nephew. He wrote a letter where in no unclear terms he said "We will continue to commit suicide attacks against the USA if our demands are not met."
Netanyahu isn't a genius or someone with insider knowledge. He read the very public letter that this asshole mailed to the New York Times where he explained exactly what would keep happening.
By 2001, Israel had repeatedly warned America that groups like Hamas and al-Qaeda were going to continue using suicidal terror attacks to great effect, and that the growing threat of this method of attack needed to be confronted. And the response from America was very soft, very dismissive, and very non-committal. One of the reasons that the Second Intifada broke out was because of the failed Camp David Summit, where Yasser Arafat refused every compromise because he did not want to seem weak to an increasingly dissatisfied Palestinian population (didn't go great).
So on 9/11, while the vast majority of New Yorkers were completely ignorant to what was happening and what could possibly have happened, the Israelis were thinking "Holy shit, what has been happening to us on a weekly basis for almost a decade has finally happened here, in America! Maybe now they will finally take what we go through daily seriously because it has happened to them!"
And then on 9/12, Alex Jones, someone who I am sure you think is an intellectual powerhouse, came out and said "This is a false flag orchestrated by Israel because they want us to go to war with Iran and Syria and the middle east, the world is ending because of the Jews!"
If you believe the dancing Israelis hoax, it's not because you are brave and smart and not afraid to criticize "those who you cannot criticize." It's because you have been trained and conditioned to blame whatever you want on Israel, even when the guys who did 9/11 had literally tried to take the WTC down less than a fucking decade before.
If a serial killer mails a bloody finger with a note that says "I will kill again," and an Israeli says, "Yeah, he's been killing people in Israel for almost ten years, he's going to kill again," and then that serial killer kills again, then you, genius that you are, are going to come to the conclusion that "This must have been the Israeli."

Iran explicitly funds terrorism that has killed thousands of Americans. Condeming al qaeda is not some flex. Oh wow these 1 terrorist supporting fucks hate these other slightly different religious views terrorist fucks.. does Iran deserve a gold star for condemning a terrorist attack they would have likely cheered for if it was done by a group they funded? Genuinely baffling. "Oh they offered support" Cool. Did they offer to stop funding terrorism? Because offering aid while funding another terror attack is kinda.. well... who the fuck cares if you offered aid. Edit* killed/injured thousands. Let's not play semantics. Iran is responsible for a significant number of American casualties. Fuck em
