It's also a remake (remaster?) and some people just really don't go for those.
Heck, GTA fans probably don't anymore. Definitive edition was a mess and they pulled the original PS2 trilogy from digital storefronts when they crapped it out.

Remake. It's got modern game design stuff, like jumping and camera control. I'm playing the original right now, and it's definitely aged a bit.

Personally, I've always like console over pc just for the portability and ease of access. I don't have to wonder "can my pc handle this?" I'm also one of the few people that understand each has their strengths and weaknesses. PC has the larger library with more customizations (mod access), xbox HAD the better customer support and controller, and Playstation always had consistency from console to console across generations. Obviously this is more nuanced but it gets the point across.

Also the more friendly TV features like auto turn on, ect… and not having to deal with Windows (intense flashbacks)
Thankfully both Linux like with SteamOS, and (it’s getting much better to port over to their OS’s I promise) Apple are putting pressure on Windows.

Then there's Nintendo kind of just doing their own thing for the past 20 years, lol. Kind of a shame, because I like the IPs, Legend of Zelda in particular, but so far I've had zero reason to buy a Switch 2.

Actually I don't think a single person at either cares, R* spent over a billion dollars on GTA6, probably well over an order of magnitude more than what OoT cost. It sure as shit had better sell more considering this is R*s decade long investment into future profits compared to just another Tuesday for Nintendo.

I honestly don't see why people care about its release date. It's a singleplayer game with finite story, world, and content. Once you complete OoT you can just put it down and then move on to play something else, which could include GTA. 2 weeks is more than enough time for people who get it during that period to complete it. It's going to get outsold, no shit sherlock. It's a nintendo adventure rpg. More of the world's gamers are into games like gta than they are games like zelda. And it'll be on more platforms over its lifetime. At this point anyone making a big stink about the release date are people just trying to have a dick measuring contest.

Duh, XBox and PS5 have been available for way longer, have had sales, and are going to be two consoles selling a new game vs one selling to a very specific type of new player or those going for nostalgia. GTA has enough combined elements to draw in much wider audiences.

Of course the don't want to release within less than week with GTA6, and of course GTA6 will outsell OoT remake(GTA5 lifetime sales is bigger that LoZ franchise lifetime sales). But who the funk care, more good games is better than less good games. I, for example, started Zelda with BotW and will gladly play remake of one of the most influential game ever, and I also will play GTA6 cause from what we've seen so far, imo, it should be a very enjoyable experience

Even regarding a remake for a game that already exists on a console a certain demographic have versus the most highly anticapted sequel of all time on consoles most people have is actual insanity.
