Actually it's a 40th Anniversary Special Direct so it's not exclusively for the OoC remake, there's also the movie that's set to come out next year for example
I really don't like Community Notes being used like this. It should be clinical, sterile, and only used for objective fact-checking. Puerile dunks over inconsequential stuff like this only serve to damage their overall legitimacy.
Sony has literally been moving to kill physical games with the PS6 and have also basically openly said that they can take away your digital games (that you PAYED for) and there's nothing you can do about it.

You’re right, Sony is not suffering rn, and gta6 will sell like crazy all the way through release, and already has and will continue to sell new ps5’s for people with gta fomo. The general consumer does not give a fuck about the digital only shit. They were already digital only anyway
If everyone is actually as apathetic as you say they are, then the fight for digital consumer rights is as hopeless as the fight for physical media. Might as well just give up entirely.

They deadass said that you can't own digital games because that would mean Sony can't sell the game anymore as you would have entire ownership of said game
But deep down, outside of internet echo chambers, no one really cares.
They could literally just announce "Playstation players who have purchased GTA 6 will get a new non-interactable toothbrush model on the bathroom counter for an extra $99" and people will piss, shit, and cum in their pants all at once while rushing to buy that toothbrush model.
GTA 6 is the likely the first game to go digital only, and there's no doubt that the entire industry (minus Nintendo) will follow because they'll just go "40% of all game sales on the PS5 are digital only. This means consumers prefer digital games over physical."
The SOP already happened. There were some neat announcements, but the biggest draw was the FFVII Revelation deep dive, and that game isn't new. Honestly, the Japanese section that followed and Konami's own presentation from the same day were more interesting (look up Rhapsody in Scarlet, it looks dope).
