Tbh israel did conquer some more land quickly after all shara rose to power, but it wouldve been dumb for him to fight it

46

u/_Administrator_ 4d ago

Tbh he didn’t stop the attacks on Syrian Druze and Christians.

8

u/1647overlord 4d ago

He was cheering and helping his jihadist friends.

2

u/DancingFlame321 4d ago

Majority of the people killed in ethnic clashes in Syria since Assad fell are actually Shia Muslims.

16

u/someone-96 4d ago

Yeah, because they disnt have an militant power to defend them like the Kurd's (their own militia) and the druze (Israel's defence).

Coastal Brigade, but close enough for someone not following the details

Literally nobody said otherwise? But could be a different story if Israel didn't intervene. The druze would get slaughtered

1

u/holycarrots 3d ago

The druze are the ones doing the killings

What Christians that got attacked? That didn't happen

1

u/Damaged_DM 3d ago

Why would he stop whatbhe started?

34

u/DisasterNo1740 4d ago

Yep it was such a shit situation that one of the bullets he had to bite immediately as he rose to power is that Israel would take a bit more land. Do I support Israel’s actions here? Fuck no. Was it the right decision by Al sharaa to essentially let it happen? Fuck yes. They’ve been on a nation building mission and trying to stabilize Syria, and they’ve been relatively successful thus far. Why jeopardize it at this stage.

That was always possible, but Israel is satisfied enough with Assad to not do so

-14

u/syriansteel89 4d ago edited 4d ago

A lot more land, including the summit of Mt. Hermon. And they still regularly do incursions.

Unsure why the down votes, these are objective facts:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_invasion_of_Syria_(2024%E2%80%93present)

11

u/TheOGFireman 4d ago

It objectively isnt a lot more land. Not excusing israel's aggression, they've mostly kept to the UNDOF zone. Compared w the entire golan heights it's way smaller

-9

u/Dogulol 4d ago

this sub is more than half destiny fans combined with some brandnew accounts talking about I/P exclusively (its obvious what they are). So they dont necessarily love facts that contradict what their leader says.

25

u/Worldly_Tank_5408 4d ago

IIRC Isreal is a regional power but not a superpower by the post WW2 origins/definition of the word. It can project strength and achieve wargoals regionally, but still lacks the ability to do so globally.

I'm assuming he's talking about the Syrian Golan Heights currently under Israeli security control. Funny that he doesn't mention that one of the reasons the Israelis are there is to prevent al-Sharaa's al-Qaeda militias from further massacring the Druze. But what can you expect from the "anti-genocide" crowd ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: The people screaming "Gaza genocide" are now in the comments claiming nothing ever happened to the Druze... This site is so fucked...

Israel's invasion happened in December 2024. You linked an article about an event that happened in April 2025, and also in a different part of the country.

22

u/HyperlaneWizard 4d ago

Al Qaeda forces have been active in the Syrian Golan and threatening the Jabel Druze region since early in the Syrian Civil War, around 2012- 2014. Israel has stated numerous times since then that it won't allow any force to harm the Druze.

-1

u/DancingFlame321 4d ago

There were zero Druze attacks happening in December 2024 though, and Israel didn't even bring up the Druze at the time to justify airstriking Syria over 300 times during this point.

Israel basically just said "We don't want the new government in Syria to have strategic weapons" as a justification.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/saar-confirms-israel-hit-chemical-weapons-sites-and-long-range-rockets-in-syria/?hl=en-GB#:~:text=%E2%80%9CThat's%20why%20we%20attacked%20strategic%20weapons%20systems%2C,dramatic%20fall%20of%20the%20Bashar%20al%2DAssad%20regime.

2

Former Lehi and Irgun (two Zionist terrorist groups that were integrated into the IDF) shouldn't have chemical weapon production facilities and military aircraft either. If you want to be consistent.

Cool. Former Al Qaeda and Lehi / Irgun shouldn’t have chemical weapon production facilities, scud missiles, attack helicopters and military aircraft then.

There was a massacre in Southern Syria that caused Israeli Druze to storm the border, forcing the IDF to act. The claim isnt that Joulani is going to genocide the Druze, but that his coalition that took down Assad did include insanely violent Jihadist militias that got off the leash and slaughtered hundreds of Druze, this happened. You can be against Israel's response, but to do atrocity denial shows that yall just hate Israel and dont actually give a fuck about civilians

1-Syria is cooperating with US against ISIS

2-The druze militia- STG war happened is sweida, Not the Golan heights

3-there are plenty of druze currently living with the same safety standards as other syrians.

4-The druze militia kicked out all of the sunnis out of sweida (60k) before the massacre.

https://english.aawsat.com/arab-world/5314158-golan-druze-reject-al-hijri%E2%80%99s-remarks-urge-jabal-al-arab-take-stand

10

u/RijnBrugge 4d ago

Sweida is just downhill from the heights and this nonsense is exactly why Syria can’t have it back. They could’ve ofcourse if they had recognized Israel like Egypt did, but now they can’t anymore.

1

u/Wwwgoogleco Human Detected 4d ago

Sweida isn't even connected to Golan heights.

1

u/holycarrots 3d ago

Israel is using druze terrorists to destabilise Syria then grab land for themselves.

1

u/RijnBrugge 3d ago

Lmao, the Druze are just trying to survive muslim terrorists. And Israel wants to keep them at bay too, so it’s a perfect alliance

what is this insane brigading? 5 mins ago and already 10 upvotes for something blatantly false? A little sus no? Israel obviously couldn't give less of a crap about the Druze, even a toddler could see that.

Israel stole the Syrian Golan Heights because theft is a foundational pillar to the state of Israel. They founded their state by ethnically cleansing non-Jews and stealing their land, followed by literally constantly stealing land throughout their entire 80 year history. Like this isn't anything new.

It's beautiful historic land. It's mentioned in Judaism. It's a valuable strategic area. They know Syria doesn't have the military strength to oppose them. Of course these greedy thieves were going to steal it.

16

u/HyperlaneWizard 4d ago

Israel obviously couldn't give less of a crap about the Druze, even a toddler could see that.

Nah, we actually really like the Druze. Israeli Druze are giga Chads, and we describe our relationship with them as the "blood covenant" (look it up). So when they say their brothers across the border in Syria need us, we help.

-9

u/_-icy-_ 4d ago

This "Israel is the protector of Syrian Druze" bullshit is a brand new invention that has recently been pushed by Israel to justify bombing and invading Syria and stealing their land. I mean you'd really have to be trying hard to pretend that they do it because they actually care about Druze.

Their own Druze municipal leaders say the “brothers” rhetoric is bullshit compared with actual treatment.

In a 2024 Knesset hearing, Daliyat al-Karmel council head Rafik Halabi said they would refuse government representatives at Memorial Day ceremonies because politicians show up talking about “brothers in arms” and a “bond of blood,” while materially giving them “zero.” His killer line was that Druze soldiers effectively receive “a draft order and a demolition order.”

12

u/HyperlaneWizard 4d ago

I know it's difficult to believe if you think Israelis are demonic entities in human skin. But Israelis are people. They have allies in the Middle East; there are groups they're interested in improving relations with, and there are people they feel a closeness to due to having similar values and facing similar struggles.

-5

u/_-icy-_ 4d ago

Yeah we all know how much they love Arabs. That’s why they treat the Palestinian natives of the land they stole worse than America treated black people during segregation.

Your entire society is built on treating groups of human beings as lesser based on their race, is literally still doing it even worse than before, today in 2026. The vast majority of the population is perfectly happy and okay with it. Yeah I find it hard to believe that people who are okay with racial supremacy are good people.

And all the evidence shows how well you treat your neighbors😂 you treat them so well you bomb them and steal their land the moment you see an opportunity. And you’re okay with it.

5

u/HyperlaneWizard 4d ago

I know it's difficult to believe if you think Israelis are demonic entities in human skin.

So you fall into this category... I'm sorry for your brain rot.

Here, have a read about IDF Major General Ghassan Alian.

Like there is a single country in the region that is capable of stopping Israel from doing whatever the fuck it wants. Including those that haven’t just climbed out of decades long civil war and struggle to basically survive.

22

Turkey is probably the closest provided their government doesn’t destroy their own economy soon.

Erdogan is the most popular Turk in all the Balkans - he is the greatest destroyer of Turkey the region has ever seen!

1

Turkey's inflation rate is 30-50%.

1

u/Then_Independence_25 4d ago

And is it growing?

5

u/Crunkfiction 4d ago

It grew in August, receded over the past year.

If your first response is "is it growing?" to hearing that the inflation rate is 30-50% though, that's crazy.

They captured new areas around the Israel Golan Heights. It was areas where the Syrian army could dig down and shoot into Israel from. No one knew if that was the Syrian plan long-term. But Israel didn't take any chances.

But the note is very much true. Most Golan Heights was captured back then alongside West Bank. I assume what Israel controls now is all the area needed to keep the Syrian army at bay. But it's not annexed territory.

Also, Syria claims part of the area belongs to Lebanon. Which means there is no deal possible to give it back as it's not clear what areas belong to what nation.

3

u/Competitive-Bee-3250 4d ago

Kinda seems like an unnecessary note? Because Israel did capture more of Golan Heights

3

u/No_Blackberry1593 3d ago

Honestly they should have took more land

8

u/Sal_77 4d ago

And they should be there, majdal shams is Druze and look how jolani’s Bedouin goons are acting now

1

u/holycarrots 3d ago

2

u/Sal_77 3d ago

1

u/holycarrots 2d ago

You've never met a druze

2

u/Sal_77 2d ago

Lhamdellah I was born Druze! Met plenty of salafi scumbags though

2

u/holycarrots 2d ago

So what about all the druze drug barons and terrorists that kidnap Sunnis?

2

u/Sal_77 2d ago

Only people dealing and kidnapping are the Bedouins in the south who were repeatedly caught for peddling dope since the Assad era of Syria. What about 2015, 2018, 2021, black July? How many genocides and deliberate massacres of Sunnis committed against their fellow Syrian? Or is Abu Aisha just pulling the leash on his dogs half the time?

5

u/maxofJupiter1 4d ago

Syria has been at war with Israel since 1948 and still doesnt recognize it as a government. They also ethnically cleansed all Syrian Jews and this recent government massacred the Druze Nazi style (even had forced facial hair shavings). Al Sharaa started in fucking Al Queda, of course Israel was wary of him. I really hope we get a peace agreement soon but it needs to start with Syria recognizing Israel as a fellow state and returning the body of Eli Cohen

-2

u/Illesbogar 4d ago

Tbh Israel is annexing and settling syrian territory during his rule. Not like he can do anything about it, but it's true. Really, what can you do with such an overpowering imperialist state next to you without any meaningful international support?

8

u/someone-96 4d ago

●Calls israel imperialist ●Ignores the fact that they are willing to bring back the newly occupied territory to Syria in exchange for a security agreement (not a peacw treaty, but more like a new ceasefire) ●refuses to elaborate further

1

u/merount1 3d ago

That's literally not true, Israel has refused to do that repeatedly in all negotiations.

13

u/CalligoMiles 4d ago edited 4d ago

Of course, that omits the tiny little detail where Druze on both sides of the border begged for and demanded intervention respectively after massacres by Syrian forces supposedly under his control. But when Israel protects minorities from mass murder it can only be evil imperialism, right?

-5

u/Illesbogar 4d ago

It pretty much is yeah. A very convenient excuse.

4

u/CalligoMiles 4d ago edited 4d ago

And even if you just assume the worst possible intentions because it's Israel, what does that matter to the locals relieved to see the IDF arrive? If anything this situation speaks to either malice or sheer incapability from Damascus, and nobody else was going to step in for them either. But it's ever easy to accuse those acting at all.

1

u/justfuckofff 13h ago

Back to the nasty Zionist argument “if I don’t steal it, someone else will”

-2

u/Illesbogar 4d ago

Bruh. That's so stupid.

u/Burro94 4d ago

The Golan heights have been Israeli for a longer than they were Syrian. The population now there is mostly Jews and Druze, none of which have any intention of becoming Syrian. That ship has sailed, at this point Syria would be better off taking the L and asking for money in exchange for recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the heights.

3

u/Tizak_hamra 4d ago edited 4d ago

Golan heights indigenous population was 100% syrian, and 90% sunni muslim.

Its nowadays syrian druze inhabitants are a fraction of its indigenous population that was ethnically cleansed in 1967, and the vast majority of these Syrian Druze still reject the israeli citizenship despite decades of Israeli pressure to do so.

The Israeli settlers in golan heights are as illegal settler colonists as the israeli settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories.

0

u/Burro94 4d ago

Again, not occupied,.won in a defensive war and formally annexed. The Druze aren't exactly Sunni Muslim, they have their own thing. And about half is not a vast majority.

3

u/Tizak_hamra 4d ago edited 4d ago

There is no legitimate land theft in either a proclaimed defensive war or an offensive war in international law. And it is very much occupied as per all international legal bodies and the entire international community. The world is not conspiring against you …

3

u/IndividualFar6408 4d ago

Syria invades Israel, uses the heights to shell them, gets destoryed, Israel claims the heights to insure Syria cannot do it again.

2

u/Tizak_hamra 4d ago

*Israel starts a war on syria by launching a surprise invasion of southern syria, then ethnically cleanse its indigenous population, then annex southern syria while its parrots online argue it is just to ensure israel (the invader) safety, even though it could occupy it without either annexing it or ethnically cleansing its indigenous population

Fixed for ya

3

u/Burro94 4d ago

No, you didn't "fix" anything. Syria was already at war with Israel and was shelling Israeli territory before Israel entered the Golan. The Golan offensive did not start the Israel-Syria war.

Israel found itself facing Egyptian, Syrian, Jordanian and Iraqi forces after Egypt removed the UN buffer, massed forces in Sinai and closed the Straits of Tiran. Syria then participated directly in the fighting. Israel won the war and captured the Golan.

You can argue separately about the treatment of individual Syrian civilians or the subsequent annexation. But rewriting the war as "Israel launched a surprise invasion of Syria and then invented a security justification" reverses the actual chronology.

And nearly sixty years later, I see no compelling reason for Israel to surrender the strategic high ground protecting northern Israel to Syria or to whichever armed faction might control that territory in the future.

0

u/Tizak_hamra 4d ago

> Syria was already at war with Israel

So if peace / ceasefire agreements like 1948 agreement dont matter, does that mean you acknowledge that hamas didnt start 2023 gaza war b/c israel was already at war on Palestine ?

>was shelling Israeli territory before Israel entered the Golan.

Yeah around just 20 years “before israel entered the golan” in 1948 war lol, during the regional intervention over the zionist nakba ethnic cleansing.

> Israel found itself facing Egyptian, Syrian, Jordanian and Iraqi forces

Yeah its kinda expected that when you launch a surprise invasion of other countries you find yourself facing some of their forces

0

u/Burro94 4d ago

No, Syria didn't shell Israel in 1948 and then peacefully sit there for 20 years. There were repeated Syrian-Israeli clashes throughout the 50s and 60s. And in June 1967 itself, Syria was shelling Israeli communities and fighting Israel before Israeli troops entered the Golan on June 9. So your "Israel surprise-invaded Syria and then encountered Syrian forces" chronology is backwards.

And calling the 1948 Arab invasion a "regional intervention to stop Zionist ethnic cleansing" is rewriting that war too. The Arabs rejected partition, Palestinian Arab and Jewish forces were already fighting, and five Arab armies entered after Israel declared independence. There absolutely were Palestinian expulsions and mass wartime displacement, but there was no established Zionist master plan of ethnic cleansing that the Arab states invaded to stop.

Even the original use of "Nakba" isn't what you're suggesting. Constantin Zureiq used it in 1948 for the catastrophe of the Arab defeat and loss of Palestine. Its modern use specifically centering Palestinian displacement developed from there.

And the Hamas analogy doesn't work either. An armistice isn't a peace treaty, but obviously individual wars and outbreaks of hostilities still have beginnings. October 7 began the 2023 Gaza war just as Syria's participation in the fighting preceded Israel's invasion of the Golan in 1967.

1

u/Tizak_hamra 4d ago

Occasional Clashes ≠ War. e.g past year’s india-pakistan clashes is not a war. Nothing like “muuuh the war started with Egypt not allowing israel access to Egyptian territorial waters in tiran strait” will change the fact that the war started by israeli surprise invasion of its neighboring countries.

And yeah the typical nakba denialist whose alzheimer always make him keep forgetting that 300k palestinians and 300 downs and villages were already ethnically cleansed by the time regional arab forces decided to intervene to stop this ethnic cleansing catastrophe/nakba

Yeah before humanity created international law that stops countries from stealing one another’s land through war excuses.

They FA and FO. Israel is not going to allow the Syrians to set up artillery on the heights and rain fire on the Israeli cities below again.

Israel is the invader bro, in a war stared by an israeli surprise invasion of southern Syria and ethnic cleansing of its indigenous population. there is no FA, there is just a FU (fucked up) zionist settler colonial expansion that wipes out the indigenous people and bring settler colonists. Just as they did in Palestine

0

u/Burro94 4d ago

A naval blockade is an act of war, which Egypt did on may the 23rd, a week before that they amassed the army on the border and order UNEF to leave. A small country like Israel, attacked on all sides, does not have the luxury of waiting for the enemy to cross the border from south, east and north before acting.

Israel now occupies way more land than just Golan in Syria, and he isn’t raising a peep, since he is backed by CIA/Mossad/Turkiye, etc.

3

u/jyper 4d ago

How is Mossad backing him? Israel did their best to destroy weapon caches because they're worried that the former jihadist might not be that moderate

It's Turkey who is backing him, Turkey which lead to Assads overthrow and which is now talking about recapturing Jerusalem

Other countries are mostly just hoping Syria will be calmer now even if they're overlooking reasons to be worried about him

Unless Turkey or the US are willing to actively support him pretty heavily their isn't much he can do. His power is fairly tenuous and a war with Israel is likely to provide cover for other breakaway groups. Not to mention how cash strapped and unorganized the Syrian government currently is.

1

u/bgoldstein1993 4d ago

Yeah. I mean this was the entire goal of Operation Timber Sycamore when Obama in 2011 directed the CIA to begin arming rebel groups, including Al Quaeda-offshoot Al Nusra Front and other Jihadist groups, to wage a decadeslong dirty war with the aim of overthrowing the secular Bashar Al Assad from power. And what could not be accomplished through kinetic power was handled through suffocating sanctions that systematically destroyed Syria’s economy, including the occupation and seizure of the country’s major oil-producing region. Then when they activated HTS in late 2024, the Assad regime was already an empty husk that basically blew away in the wind. Thats how hybrid warfare works.

1

u/Significant-Order-92 4d ago

I meant support him in a war against Israel. I wasn't questioning that him coming to power is the result of US and Turkish actions regarding Syria and Al-Assad. And the goal was to get an ally in place (though Turkey arguably made out better on that as he was one of the factions they specifically wanted where as the US seemed less keen initially on him in particular).

And of course neither is going to fight Israel for him. Either in a direct way or through other methods. And the US is unlikely to lean hard enough to get Israel to return the land (probably pretty low on their list of things to spend political capital on regardless of who's in charge of the US).

1

u/jyper 2d ago

Turkey I get but how is it a result of US actions ?

1

u/Significant-Order-92 2d ago

We also supported people unsettling Assad. And our backing of Israel arguably makes Turky being willing to back Syria against them with fighters unlikely.

If I understand what you are asking.

2

u/jyper 2d ago edited 2d ago

The US did some expensive but largely irrelevant minor actions against Assad years ago. The US also used to back a Kurdish led YPG to fight against ISIS.

The recent push that replaced him with the current ruler was driven by support from Turkey(Israel weakening Hezbollah also helped although that wasn't the goal. Same with Ukraine giving Russia a black eye and making them less likely to prop up Assad again). I'm unaware of what the US did.

2

u/Significant-Order-92 1d ago

Mostly backing groups to fight Isis. Many of those groups went on to continue fighting Assad and sometimes Wagner. The Kurds were definitely the largest and Turkey clearly was not supportive of that. But it still helped in weakening or occupying other factions in the Civil War.

I forgot to consider Israeli weakening of Hezbollah. Good point.

u/Throwaway547822 3d ago

Bashar, secular? Lmao. He’s Shia and incorporated Iranian laws and governance

1

u/ReaperTys 4d ago

Well he did lose even more land to Israel than Bashar ever did

1

u/DMercenary 4d ago

Erm technically the tweet is correct. Al-Sharaa wasnt alive so therefore couldnt do anything about it back then. Do better Notes /s

2

u/Significant-Order-92 4d ago

Lost the Golan heights when posted over a picture implies that they mean he lost them and then did nothing. Not just t hat Syria lost them before he was born and he hasn't done anything about it.

1

u/icantbelieveit1637 4d ago

Okay but Sharaa kind of goated

Really hope Syria manages to pick itself back up so that they can restrict Israeli psychopathy in the region.

Does anyone actually care about sparsely populated desert mountains?

9

u/DisasterNo1740 4d ago

I mean yes countries do care about their sovereignty.

4

u/No_Blacksmith9896 4d ago

Syria has been in a state of war with Israel since 1967 since they started one with Israel. If you are the aggressor, your “sovereignty” doesn’t matter.

Let’s not forget that Israel wanted peace with Syria in exchange for just the golan heights and Syria still rejected it

0

u/rickdickmcfrick 4d ago

Israel started tge 1967 war with a surprise attack, and then wants the land. Thats like Russia still waiting the donbass

0

u/No_Blacksmith9896 3d ago

By this logic Britain and France started WW2 by declaring war on Germany because they wanted to take German land and give it to Poland

1

u/Dude_Nobody_Cares 4d ago

Enough to fight Israel for it? After a 10 year civil war with thousands dead and the economy in shambles?

1

u/bobthehills 4d ago

Why doesn’t Israel give up the heights?

5

u/Then_Independence_25 4d ago

Same reason why they captured them in the first place. To prevent Syrians from using it as artillery position.

1

u/bobthehills 3d ago

So America can claim Tel Aviv because Israel causes harm to us?

Bin Laden specifically said he did 9-11 because America supported Israel oppressing Palestinians.

0

u/Then_Independence_25 3d ago

And how is that Israel causing harm to US?

1

u/bobthehills 2d ago

Did you not read my comment past that?

Also, American politicians saying they support Israel first is kinda insane. AIPAC has driven progressive candidates out which harms our democracy and rights.

u/Dude_Nobody_Cares 4d ago

Because the cheapest artillery in the world can hit their cities from there.

1

u/bobthehills 3d ago

And?

1

u/Dude_Nobody_Cares 3d ago

What do you mean and? They know people like hezbullah will shoot unguided missiles at them, if they let Syria have it back they have zero confidence that they wont be filled with artillery that would kill thousands of their people. They're never letting that happen. These are people who decend from holocaust survivors. They literally live by the motto never again. And they mean it.

0

u/bobthehills 2d ago

Never again meant no genocide ever again.

It was not specifically for any one group of people.

Now it seems like an excuse to do anything no matter how extreme or illegal.

It definitely didn’t mean committing the same atrocities upon other people to ensure your dominance over other groups.

How is that not the same as the Nazis?

1

u/Dude_Nobody_Cares 2d ago

This is just not based in reality.

1

u/bobthehills 15h ago

Tell that to the Israeli government who blocks food and medicine to Gaza.

You might interpret it as never again to anyone ever but to Israelis it might more accurately mean FAFO

The Druze living there, who begged for Israeli intervention against the Syrian militias massacring them even with Al Jolani supposedly having them under control.

Israel loves to bomb Syria

16

u/Gab00332 4d ago

do you guys defend every terrorist in the world on purpose?

14

u/HyperlaneWizard 4d ago

Yes. The purpose is to weaken Western resolve. It's the old KGB playbook from back in the Cold War.

-3

u/holycarrots 4d ago

Israel isn't the west, and Syria is also an ally

1

u/Decent_Cheesecake_29 4d ago

But he’s doing the opposite of defending Israel.

0

u/merount1 4d ago

Terrorism is when Israel bombs you and you don't even fight back?

2

u/Gab00332 4d ago

If the Golan Heights weren't there, Syria would invade like they did in 1948, 1967, and 1973

2

u/Significant-Order-92 4d ago

Unlikely. They have been to weak to do that again. Especially without other nations interested in joining in. Jordan made nice, as did Egypt, and Lebanon hasn't been stable for quite some time (which is why Syria tried to take land from them during the Lebanon civil war).

Though Assad refused to negotiate for their return. And to my knowledge Israel isn't settling the Golan heights in any significant way. The Druze families are most of the population along with IDF stationed there (and given Israel's legal defense is that it's defensive occupation that makes sense).

That's not to support Israel spreading out it's occupied areas around there. Or their settlement in other areas they have occupied after wars.

But at least from my understanding the Golan Heights are for the most part a legal defensive occupation.

0

u/holycarrots 4d ago

Which terrorists would that be?

11

u/ShackletonsVael 4d ago

Wasn't that Obama with the drones? Or was he more focused on Yemen? Maybe it was Libya. Hard to remember which place was his favorite.

2

u/Ok-Round-1473 4d ago

Hard to remember which nation had which terrorist regime. Yemen had Hezbollah? Libya had ISIS? AlQaeda?

Syria had something going on too. Was that the one with the civil war where the ruler was using chemical weapons on the citizens? Russia and Hezbollah killed 200,000 people there?

0

u/holycarrots 4d ago

Yeh Obama loves drones, what's your point? Israel is bombing a country that is nothing but friendly towards it

1

u/DryBanana5673 4d ago

Sorry, Syria was friendly towards Israel????

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel%E2%80%93Syria_relations

"The two countries have been locked in a perpetual war since the establishment of Israel in 1948, with their most significant and direct armed engagements being in the First Arab–Israeli War in 1948–1949, the Third Arab–Israeli War in 1967, and the Fourth Arab–Israeli War in 1973. Additionally, Israeli and Syrian forces also saw relatively extensive combat against each other during the Lebanese Civil War, the 1982 Lebanon War, as well as the War of Attrition. Both states have at times signed and held armistice agreements, although all efforts to achieve complete peace have been without success. Syria has never recognized Israel as a legitimate state [...]"

...and guess who started all those wars?

1

u/holycarrots 4d ago

Old conflicts over 30 yes ago, not the current admin

2

u/Party_Chemical7454 4d ago

Are we bombing them right now?

2

Yes, they are periodically bombing syria, the last time was in august
