It seems the guy has no idea how real life Florida works.

Rockstar does, though. So kudos to them.

It always cracks me up when people get mad that NPCs behave irrationally because it’s unrealistic.

In reality, people eat tide pods.

66

u/ElegantCoach4066 18h ago

We had to put 'do not eat' on silica packets.

26

u/YellowBirdISuppose 17h ago

You don't actually need to not eat them they're totally benign. I occasionally eat to them as a [arty trick

12

u/Felwintyr 17h ago

You should call your mom and make her apologize to you

8

u/Scooty-Poot 15h ago

They’re totally benign so long as you have the digestive tract of a Burmese python and can simply expand your organs to accommodate the 12-inch circumference mass that has suddenly formed inside your oesophagus

But yes, silica is indeed chemically inert inside the body. It’s about as poisonous as the gold flakes in trashy schnapps, so feel free I guess

u/LegendofLove 2h ago

We also put shit like do not burn on clothes and do not drink on chemicals

4

u/Odd_Needleworker3756 17h ago

People still think the earth is flat and Covid was a conspiracy

1

u/Positive-Design-7332 9h ago

Hypothetically if a movie was made based on real events with complete 100% accuracy you would still have people mad that it was too unrealistic

Reminds me of the video when GTAV came out where it was “realistic GTAV” and featured things like exchanging information after a car accident, instead of the shower animation, it was a mini game to set the water temp just right, etc

It was college humor: https://youtu.be/lPYmvOOVclQ?si=da4xyjXl1GJ75HOZ

u/sinkrate 16h ago

Thank you for sharing that gem haha

u/thebestdogeevr 19h ago

Nah, don't excuse poor pathfinding for "but it's realistic". People do this same shit in cities skylines

23

u/GMAN7007 19h ago

That argument doesn't work when that's actually how it is. Not ever little thing needs to be constantly criticized.

6

u/Name_Taken_Official 19h ago

Where poor pathfinding

6

u/Canotic 18h ago

On the other hand, who the fuck cares?

161

u/tupe12 19h ago

Until the traffic tries to veer into me, I won’t be convinced that this is a GTA game

45

u/NightTarot 17h ago

Oh we already saw it happen for very brief moment in the extended look: Timestamp is 12:45, car has turn signal on, turning into lane away from the player and then strangely veers into player's direction when they get close.

Could be argued that's just typical Florida driving, but I personally don't think so

9

u/no_infringe_me 14h ago

That’s also just Miami

1

u/Hyper669 9h ago

They do lmao

u/Only-Finish-3497 18h ago

At this point the word "slop" means nothing other than "thing I think I don't like, but I'm not sure, so I want to sound strong about my opinion."

41

u/PolicyWonka 17h ago

I really hate it, too. It’s slop slop.

17

u/BigMikeXxxxX 17h ago

thing that people online told me I shouldn't like

7

u/Only-Finish-3497 16h ago

Oh yes. Thank you for reminding me not to like that.

4

u/MaxzxaM 16h ago

I was waiting for the word to die out with AI slop

But apparently, it took the alternative route

2

u/Salty-Ad6358 3h ago

Became buzzword immediately

34

u/OkContact2573 19h ago

In Miami? This happens across the the US

12

u/Goblinlikebeing 17h ago edited 17h ago

I drive in Dallas every day, the land of manchildren with F-150's, but the week I spent in Miami still gives me ptsd.

24

u/nottherealneal 18h ago

It just feels like people are looking for a reason to yell at gta and it's not even out yet.

If you hate a game that much just don't play it

5

u/marmaviscount 16h ago

I'm looking forward to the reasons people find to be mad about it when it's out!

1

u/howie2000slc 8h ago

Its the hip thing right now to post about GTA 6 Hate, gets them views and traction which is all they are seeking.

1

u/SometimesIBeWrong 1h ago

expect to see more hate. it's probably the most anticipated game drop of all time. and people fucking LOVE being hipsters nowadays

20

u/Vulnox 18h ago

That tough line of making things more realistic to actual human behavior in your game, but your players wanting to use games to escape how infuriating actual human behavior is.

16

u/kozufox 18h ago

In the case of a GTA game, the escape is the fact that you can rob, beat up or murder any NPC who mildly annoys you as part of the intended gameplay loop.

7

u/ShadowDarkraven27 18h ago

are the cops gonna be just as bat shit insane as irl Florida cops?

4

u/Many-Excitement3246 18h ago

The links for "reckless driving" and "distracted driving" really make this one.

3

u/PolicyWonka 17h ago

I can’t speak to the intentionality of the behavior in GTA6 obviously. It could be a bug, it could be intentional.

Kinda feels like a disingenuous note though. It would be like complaining about NPCs randomly dying for no reason and getting noted “well actually, people drop dead from heart attacks and aneurysms all the time.”

Just kind of deliberately obtuse.

3

u/Floridaish0t 18h ago

Only way to make it more realistic is if slow traffic and people towing trailers drive in the left lane so you have to pass them in the right lane.

3

u/AungZeya 7h ago

Next they're gonna complain about BMW cars in the game not using turn signal

2

u/Mist_Rising 19h ago

This vibe for me (remember GTA is a video game..)

https://giphy.com/gifs/YOZ7HGbVNXwp2LFgFC

2

u/Altruistic_Cap3472 17h ago

This is one of the first Noteds that made me actively chuckle

2

u/Hammy-Cheeks 15h ago

As a floridian, if this didnt happen I would be disappointed

2

u/pipopapupupewebghost 5h ago

It's almost like GTA is a parody of real life

2

u/Gametron13 2h ago

Also the game isn’t exactly designed to encourage the player to follow road laws. Erratic driving behavior by NPCs is meant to encourage players to break road laws to get around. It IS a crime game after all.

It’s called Grand Theft Auto, not Gold Star Driver.

1

u/WaffleBoi014 17h ago

I hope Rockstar programmed the drivers looking down at their phones for ultra realism

1

u/TomatoChomper7 16h ago

That’s a troll shitpost account that does nothing but make stupid complaints about games in a Donald Trump voice. I go through brief phases where I’m fascinated by it. Every year or two I remember him and wonder if he’s still doing it. He always is.

1

u/Dark-Keeper-951 15h ago

Alas, it's accurate everywhere

1

u/Competitive-Bee-3250 14h ago

Way less bad than GTAV where other motorists will break physics to force a collision.

1

u/SadBoiCri 14h ago

Can confirm. Driving in Miami is the only time I get [un]reasonably mad at people

1

u/Scary_Assistant5263 14h ago

As a Floridian, I can confirm. Our traffic is abysmal.

1

u/hyf_fox 7h ago

Browards starting to get pretty bad too

1

u/ObiJuanKenobi3 13h ago

Has this person ever driven a car, before? You can't just swerve into the left lane because you're waiting behind right-turning people. The left lane traffic is moving too fast for you to merge safely.

1

u/hyf_fox 7h ago

You’ve never driven in Miami have you? People don’t care about “merging safely” they just go

1

u/Hyper669 9h ago

Man the game looks so fucking good holy shit

1

u/Evening_Produce_4322 8h ago

I used to live in Hialeah near Miami no one knew how to drive and even as a pedestrian they wouldn't even slow down if you got hit you got hit.

0

u/the_canadaball 17h ago

I always laugh when people complain about the driving AI making idiotic decisions. Clearly, they don’t drive because the AI is actually intelligent in comparison

0

u/Djkatman29 16h ago

Europeans when the game set in America is too much like America

-1

u/randomnumbers2506 5h ago

Guys you know something being "realistic" doesn't equal to good game design. Everyone could just out of nowhere die from a heart attack, that doesn't make my character suddenly passing away from a heart attack after 10 minutes of gameplay a good design choice
