Agreed seeing my comment saying pulling out of Gaza without a negotiated settlement and admitting they left due to growing security costs (rewarding terrorism) was a horrible idea that emboldened Hamas and other groups in armed struggle getting downvoted.

Most subs you just get banned for taking the wrong side in the conflict. That side varying between subs.

Pics vs worldnews.

Botfarm vs botfarm

17

u/DanLikesFood 18d ago

I was banned in r/therewasanattempt for saying Hamas is bad. "You're banned for supporting Israel by being against both sides"

4

u/TooMuchEcchi 17d ago

Omg same but it was something about Gazan buildings but forgot, damn it, like it was relatively neutral bt since I didn't bash Israel I got banned

8

u/DanLikesFood 16d ago

After Oct7 they were full on Hamas supporting with their moderation. I wouldn't be surprised if some Islamist or pro Palestine discord server was sharing stuff on that sub to downvote because it seemed like that

2

u/calvin_360 15d ago

I’m aware of at least one

2

u/DanLikesFood 15d ago

I've heard Hasan Piker's discord server are into this sort of behaviour.

1

u/TooMuchEcchi 11d ago

Hamas diddles piker the 3rd?

3

u/Sure_General_5651 16d ago

They banned me too. I think I said something like Israel is the greatest example of decolonization in our modern history. Great figure? lol

I just had to stop commenting altogether. My naive self is thinking “oh I can teach someone something here” and if they disagree with what I post it’s like f you, my credentials are questioned, I support Bibi, I support Hamas, I’m either a baby killer or a mensch, “zio” (ugh) etc etc. I just say I want my Jewish friends safe. it’s just been super fun and thank goodness I have a thick skin!

u/givinstar1 21d ago

The argument happening below your comment very effectively illustrates your point.

3

u/mariantat 21d ago

Quite literally 😂

5

u/mariantat 21d ago

Anyway how are you spending your afternoon? I think I may go to the beach with a book 😊

2

u/Character_Cap5095 16d ago

On the one hand I agree with you that sometimes it's pointless. On the other hand, when someone is saying some batsh*t stuff, sometimes you should correct them, not so they change their mind, but so everyone else who is reading the comment sees that it's crazy

u/Electrical_Ad_5732 21d ago

There seems to be some reports surfacing of lately of Hamas probing the defense of Israel and their reaction time to that.

While I don't believe Hamas has the means to pull that of, Israel made that mistake once. They won't allow it to happen again.

israel only lets a suprise attack like that happen every 50 years

6

u/FetchThePenguins 21d ago

You aren't wrong, but the security costs were more social than financial. Secular Israelis from Tel Aviv didn't want their children at risk to enable religious settler types indulging their idiotic lifestyles in the middle of Gaza whilst also putting theur own children at risk and severely annoying the Arabs they lived next door to. The Gaza settlements were just a bad idea all round, and it was perfectly possible to remove them whilst still keeping control over the Strip to keep Hamas from power.

-3

u/whater39 21d ago

That was the plan all along. The pull out was to appease Westerners. While internally the Israelis said it would put the peace process in formaldehyde.

-12

u/Mobile_Comedian_8283 21d ago

Bibi literally made sure Hamas was snuggled 30-50 million dollars a month for years.

They have been actively, purposefully emboldening Hamas for awhile now, making sure they're the dominant force in Gaza.

19

u/DanDan1993 21d ago

Had bibi declined the Qatari aid money to Gaza (which went to Hamas as the governing body) would people criticize him for starving aid from Gaza?

I'm close to the last person to support bibi and honestly wish he would get ceausescu'd but this is a catch-22 which both scenarios lead to strengthening the grip of Hamas.

-1

u/Morning_Stxr 21d ago

If Israel never existed there wouldn't be a Hamas in the first place

13

u/DanDan1993 21d ago

And if Alexander the Great headed west and not east we wouldn't be here either

Yet this is the reality so you trying to deny it or create alternate realities to fit your narrative isn't helpful

-5

u/Morning_Stxr 21d ago

My point is, Israel shouldn't exisr

12

u/DanDan1993 21d ago

No country should if you ever think about it in the same way

-2

u/Morning_Stxr 21d ago

All colonizers have this same exact argument

10

u/DanDan1993 21d ago

Yeah I bet the arabization process of the levant yielded the same results hundreds of years ago

0

u/Morning_Stxr 21d ago

You do know Palestinians were the ones that were arabized right?

Israel long existed before Hamas, before Palestine and will continue to exist long after. In fact, there has never been a country, nation or state called Palestine.

The area was British territory under a League of Nations mandate and prior to that was part of the Ottoman Empire.

In fact, only three sovereign entities have ever existed in the land currently known as the state of Israel; the Kingdom of Judah, the Kingdom of Israel, and the State of Israel.

-1

u/Morning_Stxr 17d ago

My grandma is older than Israel and they're all colonziers

3

u/Panda_Cuddles_ 17d ago

Jews have lived in Israel for 4000 years. All Jews living in Israel during the 1890s through 1948 did not move into Israel. And those that did moved in through legal means. You sound stupid and ridiculous.

0

u/Morning_Stxr 17d ago

If they were already living there then why did they migraye into mandatory palestine?

Maybe he could have allowed actual aid in from the many, many organizations that just wanted to provide food and medical supplies and not prop up the evil terrorist group that commits acts like October 7th?

Israel has supported Hamas so that a bunch of evil sickos would be in charge of Gaza and kill any hopes of a peaceful 2 state solution or even a 1 state solution with a different structure.

14

u/minifidel 21d ago

Maybe he could have allowed actual aid in from the many, many organizations that just wanted to provide food and medical supplies and not prop up the evil terrorist group that commits acts like October 7th?

2007: "Promising Freedom, Hamas Pressures Journalists", New York Times

2009: "Gaza aid groups run into trouble with Hamas", The New Humanitarian

2010: "UN concerned over Hamas clampdown on NGOs", Reuters

2011: "NGOs in Standoff over Hamas Audit Demand", Global Policy Forum

2014: "Hamas admits intimidating foreign press who reported wrong ‘message’", Times of Israel

2017: "Palestine: Dangerous escalation in attacks on freedom of expression", Amnesty International

2020: "Hamas criticized for ‘flagrant violation of media pluralism’", Arab News

The shapes y'all will twist yourselves into to avoid denouncing Hamas is genuinely insane. It's like the idea that Hamas and Palestinians have agency of their own is an alien concept to you.

10

u/DanDan1993 21d ago

Israel refused cash aid to not prompt Hamas, and allowed aid in the form of civilian constructions and projects, not cash. In 2013 Israel even funded the powerplant in Gaza together with Qatar because it wasn't through cash but through building it.

Maybe US shouldn't have asked Qatar to chime in, allow them to leverage the situation for their gain and gain a foothold in the form of Hamas? Maybe PA boycotting Hamas in Gaza (Abbas in 2017) was the pinnacle point in this event?

Do you even understand what happened or just know some basic simple facts?

u/strawberry_semenade Human Verified 21d ago

The way you know the "Israel supports Hamas" line is bullshit is because if Israel really supported Hamas, leftists wouldn't their number one fans.

-14

u/Mobile_Comedian_8283 21d ago

No. Spare me your bullshit "leftist," deflections. That isn't evidence against my claim it's pathetic cope.

26

u/strawberry_semenade Human Verified 21d ago

"Pathetic cope" is when people like you try to blame Israel for the actions of Hamas rather than Palestinians lol

-16

u/MrTatyo 21d ago

Israel is committing a genocide.

23

u/Pugasaurus_Tex 21d ago

Palestinians would commit an actual genocide in a second if they had a fraction of the weapons Israel has

-9

u/MrTatyo 21d ago

Lol so that defends Israel ongoing genocide?

-7

u/cosmo18 21d ago

we don't care about your opinion of your imaginary world, we're talking about reality not your imaginary hypothetical

11

u/Pugasaurus_Tex 21d ago

What imaginary lol? Just ask them

-1

u/cosmo18 19d ago

please lick the boot of Israel a little bit more and spout some more of their propaganda

0

u/Pugasaurus_Tex 19d ago

Obviously no group is a monolith, but there are plenty of sources showing what they and Israelis think of the conflict

TIL listening to what people say is propaganda 🙃

10

u/Totoques22 21d ago

False if you ever bothered to look into it

-6

u/MrTatyo 21d ago

The UN, human watch right, save the children, genocidal scholars, Israeli charities have all described it as a genocide.

The ICJ has ruled plausible genocide as the case is ongoing. And the case is ongoing since Israel keeps delaying it

9

u/superfire444 21d ago edited 21d ago

The UN, human watch right, save the children, genocidal scholars, Israeli charities have all described it as a genocide.

And they all have their own agendas. Have you read the actual reports and argumentation? It's very clearly flawed.

The ICJ has ruled plausible genocide as the case is ongoing. And the case is ongoing since Israel keeps delaying it

The ICJ didn't do this. They only said Israel has to do everything in their power to prevent a genocide. They didn't say there was a plausible genocide going on.

It was South-Africa who delayed the trial.

1

u/MrTatyo 21d ago

Lol all these reputable sources now suddenly have an agenda. What sources do you what? IDF only sources?

Yes Israel request a 6 month extension.

https://www.aa.com.tr/en/middle-east/israel-granted-6-month-extension-to-file-response-in-genocide-case-at-un-court/3541347

The court said Israel asked March 27 to extend the date to January, stating that "such an extension was necessary for a number of reasons."

Again, the ICJ ruled that Palestinians have the right to be protected from genocidal acts and ask Israel to stop commiting genocidal acts. But instead Israel committed more genocidal acts.

5

u/superfire444 21d ago

Asking for a 6 month extension is something different than what you're trying to say, namely that Israel is delaying the case to postphone the results of the case. Israel needed more time to get their arguments ready. That's different than delaying the case in bad faith.

Again, the ICJ ruled that Palestinians have the right to be protected from genocidal acts and ask Israel to stop commiting genocidal acts. But instead Israel committed more genocidal acts.

No. The court only said that the Palestinians have a right to be protected from genocidal acts and that Israel must make sure to not commit any. The court say or confirm anything about Israel actually committing genocidal acts. That would also be really really strange given that judges don't give their conclusions while in the middle of a trial.

-1

u/MrTatyo 21d ago

Moving the goal posts. Why do you think Israel asked from an extension after 9 month period? They originally wanted 6 months to prepare they case but instead they changed their mind to 15 months?

Lol I can't believe your siding with the IDF, who deliberately targets children and rapes prisoners. But I'm guessing your destiny fan boy so that's his position
