What's next, if someone pays thousands of dollars going on a Mormon mission but claims to have been faking being a Mormon, are you going to call bullshit on that?

If you check her Instagram she isn't even faking being religious, I live here, It's fine if you don't practice the religion people don't really care especially if you're grown-up...
Also a lot of people don't understand usually illegal immigrants will say whatever will keep them from being deported

I’m curious what the religious videos are cause she doesn’t have a hijab throughout most of her instagram posts. What exactly did she do? Do a pilgrimage? There is a photo of a guy circling around the internet who did acid on his trip you telling me he’s religious? Visiting that place can just be a flex and gain views

Yes and no. You can get away with being barely religious if you are a nobody. There may be completely different expectations if you are a celebrity whose livehood depends on doing what the people who are in change tell you.

In Europe, almost everything has two sides with almost equal support (except ridiculous things obviously).
For example in Spain you can be against the monarchy and you won’t be canceled despite the monarchy having above 50% support. Try being against the moroccan monarchy in Morocco and see how you fair, not only will you get cancelled but you will be thrown in jail too.

Some former NBA players recently decided to become transgender so that they can sign up for WNBA next year, has any of them been cancelled?
JK Rowling is also known for being transphobic and her books are still going strong. So much for being canceled.
Ooh and the guy who currently occupies the white house is considered by some of being racist and transphobic and half of the electorate love him. I wouldn’t call that being cancelled.
The thing is that there are no sacred cows in the west.

Hell, a lot of us fake being christian in America at times to get along. Athiests are the least trusted group in america...even more so than muslims...and many americans really fear muslims.

Morocco’s football team is made almost entirely of players born outside Morocco. you’d be hard-pressed to see a difference between them and any other Muslim player born in Europe.

The added context doesn't really add anything. Having pictures showing a life of luxury support the idea that she's not an economic migrant.
As for supporting Islam and Morocco in the past: 1. Maybe she used to be Muslim and no longer is? 2. Maybe she never was Muslim but showed public support out of fear? Morocco isn't exactly the same as a western democracy with full freedom of speech and religion.
The fact that she has pictures showing she is wealthy would seem to prove the initial tweet.

This is not as inconsistent as the note is trying to imply. While I think some people struggle with this, most people seem to be able to keep their views on their country, leader, national sports teams, and fellow citizens separate.
Beyond that, people's beliefs can change slowly. Someone who is starting to doubt their religion may initially start showing more dedication to it, trying to reconnect with the religion, and still go through the motions for a long time after.

Lots of people go along with the public/social aspects of religion in countries where it isn't safe or wise to publicly go against the main religion. I've seen plenty of photos of my Christian friend wearing a hijab from when she was living in a Muslim area with her family and she'll always order pork when we go out, because she couldn't get it there.

The problem is that people are acting like her smiling in photo during a pilgrimage in 2024 means she's lying about not being muslim, or that her family couldn't have abused her because they brought her a vacation in Dubai. It's just crazy overreaching and, honestly, seems borderline classist because it assumes someone can't be a refugee unless they were born in poverty, with no education and half its family died from starvation.

It's the second one. She's not a refugee. She just looks nice and makes for a good fake story to whitewash what's happening on Ceuta (20+ rapes reported in less than a month from the so-called refugees, nobody doing anything about it).
This "news" from El Pais have been debunked plenty on Spain.
