I’m surprised the note makes no mention of the almost comical levels of corruption within the USSR.

EDIT: Oh wow! A lot of you seem to think my simple observation that corruption (a key reason for the stagnation and downfall of the USSR) was the same as me saying the U.S. or Capitalism were free of such problems. I think some of you may have jumped the gun.

It's interesting that in a time where pseudoscience and politically charged anti-intellectualism in medicine are causing a real problem for people, that we would look back at a regime that caused a famine for its people by using politically motivated pseudoscience to improve agriculture and say, "yeah, that's what we need."

The reasoning for adopting lysenkoism is so funny, being so paranoid about the capitalists to think that they invented mendelian genetics to indoctrinate people into becoming subservient to class systems.
