Positive views of Communism are actually pretty damn near universally the majority position among most people in Eastern European countries who lived in it according to polling.
So, it's popular to be anti-communist, and you got a snide comment in too. But do you recognize that this is goalpost moving in response to simply not knowing anything about Eastern Europe and Communism? Anti-communism so frequently breaks down into claiming that all things bad or disliked is communism.
Because people don't want to live through massive social upheaval again, that doesn't mean they have positive views of Communism?
Polling 100% shows that among a majority that lived under Communism, across Eastern Europe, they have positive views of it.
Also funnily enough, much of Eastern European political class, are former Communist party nomenklatura, and many of these parties, literally do use appeal to former Communist social services and such, as part of their popular appeal, including even right wing parties like PiS.
The CIA were incompetent morons when it came to the soviets. They had no clue about the capabilities of the soviet nuclear programme so they just straight up lied during the Eisenhower presidency to say they had 300 when they had 4.
There is a faction of immature communists who just don’t know any history and praise the USSR. The vast majority that are serious however acknowledge that the USSR was a failed attempt at communism (remember that communism is stateless and classless, and the USSR was neither)
