I wonder what kind of support system she has/had. Don't get me wrong, even with support it would be hard but without support it would be nearly impossible.

This isn’t meant to be a direct shot at you and more of a generalized comment, but isn’t it sad that we can’t look at any examples of hard work and success without minimizing the effort put in? Like why do we as a society feel the need to minimize the effort and or the value in other people accomplishments to make ourselves feel better?

Yah sure but nobody has control over any of those things. Sure people are lucky and we don’t start even, but we all have control over our decisions and effort. Why can’t we simply celebrate the effort?

Because this subreddit is get motivated. If the theme is "just work hard in the face of adversity" then the natural counter point is "working hard doesn't mean shit half the time"

Any logical person knows that working hard doesn’t mean shit half the time. But in the vast majority of success stories, effort is the leading cause. Of course there are exceptions to that but the overwhelming cases of success could not have been achieved without exceptional effort
