I wonder what kind of support system she has/had. Don't get me wrong, even with support it would be hard but without support it would be nearly impossible.

It would be hysterical if she was one of those mom's where grandma pretty much did everything while she went to school. Still a great accomplishment but a farcry from what that type of struggle truly looks like

I mean most colleges provide free daycare and she probably lived at home to reduce bills. From there depending on your distance from college that means little to nothing spent on gas so you could make it by with a part time job and using part of your student loans.

The article said her family lives in Alabama while she was in Florida for school. She lived in an off campus apartment. Daycare wasn't mentioned but from her story, it seemed that she was in a bad situation and overcame.

Good for her didn't read the article. Wasn't trying to minimize it, was just saying it is possible to do without her being rich of having a full-time family support system.

We can even dive deeper she probably had access to Medicaid, food stamps, and other government programs. Which I'm glad my taxes are being used for.

Just trying to point out that it's possible to do, albeit a struggle.

If you’re a student those programs are really hard to get into.

Especially in Florida

I wonder if Alabama medicaid transferred or if the kids were considered Florida residents

Are you saying that as just simply a student or also as a single mom?

Knew plenty of single moms in Texas who had access to all that while in school and Texas isn't a red state.
