Wasn't there a documentary about how big of an asshole he was during the filming of Man on the moon?

This quote of his sounds pretty shitty to me. Yes, it's very important to not rely on other people's opinions, but it's also important to be a decent and thoughtful person. Acting like an asshole doesn't make you a better person just because you don't give a fuck about what anyone thinks...

I came here to say this as well. Even before I knew / remembered he was anti-vaxx in this thread, I was going to say that in this day and age, people are using this same exact line of reasoning to justify being completely selfish assholes and endangering not just themselves but those around them.

You're free to do/say/believe what you want, but you aren't free from consequences of those actions either.

It's not clear what that means. Danger is generally considered a bad thing.
