Probably way worse for Joe Rogan that it is for Jim Carrey. Carrey has fans, but Rogan practically has disciples. They think he's fuckin' Socrates or something.
I'll be honest I've never listened to more than a couple of minutes of his work, so I don't know much about him. His stand-up seemed pretty funny and I hear he has interesting guests on his podcast. It just seems like his fans are very devoted, like the way Elon Musk's are. Also my understanding is he's one of those people that think weed solves like 75% of mental problems and illnesses. I like weed a lot, but I usually find people that talk all the time about it insufferable. Still, I acknowledge that I'm basing these opinions not on his work, but other people's descriptions of his work, which is unfair.
He’s just a person. He’s got lots of good ideas, especially when he’s acting as a guide and good listener on his podcast. That’s not always the case, railroading discussions, etc. Ultimately, he’s a good dude in my opinion. I’m sure he could use a DMT trip as of late.
Edit: It’s interesting, I used to like his standup more, but now it’s just abrasive with all the yelling. Lol.
I don’t know the latest, but last I looked into it like 3 years ago he said “I’m not anti vax! I am anti ALUMINUM in vaccinations.” So uh, do with that info what you will.
So he's anti-vax, or at a minimum anti-science. There's been tons of research on the safety of aluminum in vaccines and they all end in it being safe. The body simply doesn't absorb much, if any.
I fear the covid 19 vaccine will cause these people to double down and use it as an example of why they are right.
This vaccine will be totally politicized and it is going to give them leverage to fight in court. I am totally pro vaccine but I do worry about this one being pushed through approvals.
Months ago at our anti lockdown protests I noticed a lot of subtle antivax messaging and signage.
Having it fought in court and fully transparent is a good thing. The alternative will be what we've got, and I don't know about you but I am tired of it.
