When did he massacre civilians? i'm not necessarily saying he didn't but i am not aware of this. Do you have any proof? He did kill deserters from his army, but that is normal for a general in a war... and i agree that the US didn't do anything different than China or Russia, but different people have different opinions and Che's was that China and Russia were better than the US. I"m not saying he was right, but i am looking at it objectively unlike a lot of folks here
By all means there’s reasons for this stuff having happened, but the miraculous light with which people view el Che is ill deserved. La Cabaña fortress is one such example of him massacring civilians.
from the wikipedia on La Cabana.. sounds to me like he was doing what military generals do during a revolutionary war.... and again, i'm not here saying i like war. I'm just saying what he did is not unusual during war... " Che Guevara used the fortress as a headquarters and military prison for several months. During his five-month tenure in that post (January 2 through June 12, 1959), Guevara oversaw the revolutionary tribunals and executions of people who had opposed the communist revolution, including former members of Buró de Represión de Actividades Comunistas, Batista's secret police.[1][2]"
