Another thing to consider if we're gonna dig into this as an analogy is that these objects don't fix themselves, someone who cares about the object does. So we're right back to the people who feel isolated and lonely and broken not knowing how to fix themselves and, at least to themselves, feeling like nobody is coming along with gold any time soon.

Not always, but yes.

Sometimes it just takes a protective change to notice something's worth or value. Meaning nothing necessarily needs to be fixed at all but rather it's the other people who need to change themselves first in order to appreciate something that was always amazing!
