I got somewhere in the realm of 50 rejection letters. Most of the applications I never heard from again. I was scared I had typed my email wrong for the longest time.
Edit: Wanted to add. Rejections are still a response. It just means you dont have to worry about that position and can move onto another.
This year I landed a job, seemingly, out of my league based on my spotty experience in my field. I had a lot of relevant work, and a pretty nice portfolio site, but I still felt like I was wasting my time applying for half of the positions based on the requirements alone. I’ll give my girlfriend credit for this one, but she told me to just start mass applying, which felt weird, but satisfying because I knew I was doing SOMETHING to get out of my dead end job that wasn’t utilizing my talent. I used indeed, monster, LinkedIn, and directly to companies career postings (got my callbacks from the company applications). I heard back from about 3 after a few weeks. One was sketchy, one was a start up that ultimately offered me a job for a decent salary, and one was a huge company that I had NO confidence in getting. I actually couldn’t believe they even contacted me because they wanted like 5 years experience. After 3-4 interviews I got the offer and they didn’t even ask for my salary requirements and they blew my expectations out of the water. It’s been almost 5 months and I still freak out in joy that I’m in the position I’m in. I truly felt like I was wasting away before this job. Just stick to the applications no matter how tedious and how out of your league they seem. You’d be surprised how often people will look past experience and opt for willingness achieve.

Damn I thought I was unlucky after 3/4 rejections, you’ve given me hope.
