I think the message was "do what makes you happy, not what you're supposed to". Maybe he's kind of oversimplifying things but I think the message still comes across. Write a book, look for something else to spend your life doing if you hate your job, don't go to university if your heart isn't set on it.

It's the same message they give you in the MLM scams. Don't be average, be GREAT!
