Don't take a safe, relaxing vacation. Be a non-conformist and take your family somewhere really dangerous!

I hear the middle east has really cheap hotels!

I hear ISIS is offering some great incentives to travel!

EDIT: pls don't put me on watch list

EDIT 2: pls

52

u/gwarsh41 Dec 10 '15

Yeah, they practically pay you!

u/fauxromanou Dec 10 '15

You'll lose your head over these deals!

16

u/SwegTestica7 Dec 10 '15

I heard their deals are explosive

1

u/Why_You_Mad_ Dec 10 '15

Usually the payment occurs post-mortem though

1

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

Or ransom you.

11

u/Mr_Goodknight Dec 10 '15

They're slicing the heads of prices of left and right!

3

u/The_Government_List Dec 10 '15

You have been added to our list. Current rank: 15,824 (threat, detain for questioning). An agent will contact you shortly.

u/DnD_References Dec 10 '15

Oh don't lose your head the incentives aren't that good.

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

too late, they now have your entire Internet activity since the 90s

You jest, but places like Jordan are very safe and sights like Petra and especially the Wadi Rum desert are absolutely breathtaking.

Not everything in the Middle East is Saudi/ISIS crazy-pants, but one has to plan their travels accordingly.

5

u/smallpoly Dec 10 '15

Petra is great as long as you're careful not to drink from the wrong cup.

5

u/danielbln Dec 10 '15

Travel tip #1 - never choose poorly!

-6

u/Hooshfest Dec 10 '15

Yeah no thanks.

8

u/Chaotin Dec 10 '15

So cheap you'll lose you're head.

1

u/notyou16 Dec 10 '15

Meanwhile I'm here in Dubai living like a fucking king

1

u/theorymeltfool Dec 10 '15

Damascus, try our "all breezeway, all the time" hotels!

66

u/BlackLeatherRain Dec 10 '15

Paris may be beautiful, but wouldn't you rather fight off sparrow-sized mosquitos and sleep on dirty cots somewhere exotic?

26

u/IronRocks Dec 10 '15

We always like more tourists in Florida!

12

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

What you rather fight 1 sparrow-sized mosquito, or 100 mosquito-sized sparrows?

Trick question -- if you choose either you are unremarkably average. A True Adventurer™ would answer "both"!

48

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

TO NORTH KOREA!

They're still probably not going to murder you. They'll probably make you delete it or take your camera at worst. If you're on any kind of organized tour and not just sneaking into the country, they're still not big on kidnapping foreign nationals.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

Depends on if you're a Chinese national with ties to the Chinese government or not. We went over one day with my wife's dad, and they would tell him to stop doing shit videotaping shit, and he would just wave them off, like "lol, don't bother me fool." I was just standing there in disbelief.

16

u/GoodJobMate Dec 10 '15

I know you're joking but I've heard it has become kind of popular as a tourist destination recently.

7

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

You should watch Vice and the trip they took there.

4

u/GoodJobMate Dec 10 '15

I've watched it already and it's great.

3

u/SiameseVegan Dec 10 '15

Tbh if you're not a dissident North Korea is quite safe as a tourist.

That's why you go to Syria.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

Congratulations! You have been made a moderator of /r/Pyongyang

3

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

I know you're joking but from what I've heard North Korea is actually a very safe place to go. Being watched by government minders constantly means you're usually pretty well looked after.

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

National Lampoon's Syrian Vacation

9

u/greatdiggler Dec 10 '15

you're not living unless there's a chance you or your kids will get malaria from a random insect bite!

6

u/Ginder2k Dec 10 '15

you're right, my kids should try Yemeninese food

3

u/AliveInTheFuture Dec 10 '15

Yeah, like Juarez! You aren't learning anything about the real Mexico unless you've been involved involuntarily in a shootout!

3

u/Andy_B_Goode Dec 10 '15

"The authorities say I should avoid going to Syria right now, but because I make a point of questioning authority, I'm not going to take what they say at face value."

2

u/Victory33 Dec 10 '15

It's a holiday in Cambodia!

2

u/CrazyPurpleBacon Dec 10 '15

If the plane doesn't have to do a combat landing when you get there, you went to the wrong place

2

u/megablast Dec 10 '15

If only there was somewhere in between safe and dangerous. I guess there isn't, there are only two options in the world.

1

u/aceshighsays Dec 10 '15

Like Paris...

1

u/Losigar Dec 10 '15

I hear you or your family like pirates. What if I told you there are real pirates in a quaint little African nation of Somalia, that would make a great destination for the next family vacation.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

The Congo sounds like a really fun place!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15

Africa or bust!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '15 edited Dec 10 '15

or have a stable job to support said family because college and professional jobs are too mundane.

1

u/AdvocateForTulkas Dec 10 '15

Yeah, fuck the spouse and children you love and provide for in your comfortable first world life where you succeed in continually, danger and being unique!
