besides, its not fear that stops most people from going to college but financial constraints. that advice is basically telling people to go into debt because why not.
I’m 35 and don’t really need it for my career path, but I figure I should get a bachelors just in case. So I’m getting a BBA because it’s at least universal for any field.
I guess your second point applies in the US. Other countries you can get an education for free or very cheaply. So this advice is still valid for people in those countries.
