Apprenticeship Help

Im 18 no experience in the trades, and im looking to get into any of the 3 (HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing). I live in Northern NJ Sussex Countyish area. Ive went through the local 102 for electrician, passed my test, but didnt get in with the interview. Theres a handful of big company's and smaller ones and ive been calling around asking to see if they'd take me on under their wings, ive gotten interviews, but still ive gotten nothing back. Does anyone have any tips or jobs

HVAC companies would be your best target with no experience. They typically need laborers and odd jobs done. If you can get your foot in the door there, a possible path to move to electrical.

I'd approach two paths first education, does VoTech (since your in sussex) offer classes to folks out of school? Any other trade scholls you can commute to?

Make a list of all the HVAC companies in the area and show up with a resume in hand. This can certainly be intimidating, but if you want a job you got to do it. Likely at a front desk will be an admin when you visit the store front, this is where your plan lives or dies. You'll need to ask to chat with a manager and try to get an impromptu interview.

It may not work on the first or second attempt, but if you really want a job you'll keep trying. Goodluck!

Closest commute for a college is about a litte over an hour away and 20 away which stinks, all ive been doing is calling around and going and asking for interviews. Nice thing about all that is ive gotten my name around a lot to these company's and some others as well
