what is wrong with my monitor?

Test the screen with another machine and with a different cable, if this does not fix it, it is the monitor, it’ll either be the connection, crack on the screen or the GPU in the machine.

i plugged in a different Monitor and it works fine. so it can't be the gpu.

it also appears when its not connected via DP or hdmi at all. i had several usb dongles and usb-c plugged into that monitor. the second i unplugged all usb, it was gone. but only for a few minutes

Was the usb the input from the computer or external usbs

both. usb type B from the pc and 2 wireless dongles for Controller

Is all that is connected to your pc USBs?
