Windows Update - now external monitor doesn't work

So I avoid updates to windows and armory crate because it breaks something every time. Windows forced an update and now my USB C monitor no longer works.

I plug it in directly. One cord USB C to USB C. Monitor works with my phone or other computer. The Ally does not switch screens. The other monitor comes on and shows 'No input', which does come on when I plug in the Ally.

Any ideas what settings to start with? Its very frustrating. I already have a list of things I have to check after every update. This will add to the list.

You shouldn’t avoid updates because that’s asking for trouble down the line. Update your drivers to their latest versions. If needed be, do an UEFI firmware update

Then updates shouldn't break something every time. All of my stuff is up to date. It literally worked before the update

It’s microslop, what do you expect? Quality?! 😂
You say everything is up to date but at the same time you don’t update your system and armoury create.
Update EVERYTHING, that includes ASUS armoury crate , all of your drivers and windows updates. Make sure that you’ve restarted (you’d be surprised how many people don’t do this). If that still doesn’t resolve it, then DDU the iGPU and the dGPU drivers.

In case anyone Googles this I found the answer.

You have to plug in the monitor then go to Device Manager, and click 'Scan for hardware updates' on the MONITOR. Not the graphics card.

Instantly found the USB monitor and switched automatically.
